Plus: Hokies on the pant vs. Tech, 2 colors on the number in maroon
Minus: Hokie stone in numbers, white in the number in white

I always thought the “Tech” on pants looked generic. Hokies looks much better (or I’d probably be fine with nothing on the pants but at least Hokies looks unique).

I guess numbers on the pants or helmets would qualify too but we don’t have those here.

I like them. Way better than the last ones

And the different color makes them look even more ridiculous.

You have your opinion, I have mine. I like the number outline

I really do think these unis satisfy the most fans. No uni will satisfy all fans. Some people even like to point out every couple of days that wasting time on unis is stupid, just beat Vandy.

Nothing ever matches on VT uniforms. It's always mishmash of colors, fonts, stripes, eras.

Colors: team colors
Fonts: it's the school font, same as endzones
Stripes: one stripe on a white helmet isn't a mismatch. And...it can be taken off.
Eras: This is a clear throwback to an older era. But, you only know that because you know the older era.
If you really hate numbers on shoulders, fine, that is a personal preference.

All the way up to niner dot niner.
The Russian judge deducts a tenth for helmet stripes on the one lid.

Does either make lbs and safeties tackle and fit gaps better? If so, I am all in. Otherwise, couldn't give a crap

I’m sure the kids will demand them along with the neon orange monstrosities. These are straight up 7’s for me. Nice not great.

Personally, I'd prefer the white jersey with the Maroon helmet and pants ... I've never been a big fan of a dominant one color uniform

There’s just nothing new. Pretty much all design elements we’ve seen before, seems a mashup of sorts. I completely understand why so many love them, but personally I just think it’s time to let go of hanging on to the ‘99 season and focus on moving forward.
That said, better than what we had.

To me it doesn’t work with the uniforms which have no other stripes on them. Just feels out of place.

have the stripes on the helmet to liven up the look a little bit. The maroons don't need the helmet stripes.

White/white road. Helmet doesn’t matter
Home is maroon on white and for the big games maroon on maroon. Always maroon helmet at home. Always.
(In response to this post by bourbonstreet)

I do agree with that the all maroon should probably be reserved for the marquee games especially if the game is played at night (reference the TAMU game during the hurricane). I'm not sure the all maroon has the same intimidation factor during the day time.

and away games. For example, I enjoy seeing VT wear white helmets, maroon jersey, and white pants for home games or maroon helmets, white jersey, and maroon pants for away games. However, if VT's goal is to build its brand or rebuild its brand depending on how you want to view the Fu Era, then being consistent on what kit combinations your team wears for home and away games can be one way to accomlish it. For example, everyone knows that LSU prefers to wear white jerseys for its home game assuming the visiting team agrees to it. That tidbit has become apart of LSU's brand which is why you will see some visiting teams try to play mind games by forcing LSU to wear either its purple or gold jersey for the home game.

little better and rates 9.5. It shall be noted that both uniforms are a nice design and look very good !

I like the orange on the shoulders because it is our history when we reached the national championship game. I was there! Now this is big…… We need to stick with these uniforms for the unforeseeable future. In other words we don’t need to keep these uniforms for a couple of years and then switch to some ****ty new design. Tradition rules!

Dumbest argument I have ever heard…do players play any different in different uniforms? I would really like to see the stats on the rotating trial jerseys by type. The ones that say give in and change jerseys on a whim say this. Do the players buy the merchandise? I doubt it. I used to buy different jerseys for the different numbers, but when they started the constant change (along with them jacking the prices way up), I gave up. Thereby they lost my money. I guess by not changing, they lost other people’s money. I like these uniforms and hope they hang around.

instead of matching the color of the numbers on the chest/back? After all one of the purposes to placing the jersey number on the shoulders is so people in the stands (and on TV) can still tell the player's jersey number when the number on the chest or back is obstructed from view. It may even be the only reason a team would want to do that.
