Tend to agree with overall assessment

IMO a few fans have higher expectations because of the coach than the current talent on this year's team would justify. Looking at how the schedule is laid out, the middle of the season is really going to be difficult. Personally, I put 6-6 as the baseline and 7-5 (with a win over the Cavs) as a successful 1st year. Anything over that would be unexpected joy.

After schedule release ...

7-5 is ok. 8-4 is a good season. Anything more than that and Franklin is ahead of schedule. IMO Away games are tough @Maryland @BC @Miami @Cal @Clemson and @SMU

True... However a Miami win can help the ACC

I guess I would like to see SEC shut out of the Championship Game again. However, for a purely game watching aspect Old Miss is usually a better watch.

They did win a 1st round game ....

Who do you put in instead? Notre Dame? TBH Bama's resume at least had some quality wins... ND biggest win was USC? ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 1/2/2026, 11:25:16 AM

Yeah, basically a vote of no confidence given to his defense....

However, to his credit it appears he was correct in assuming that ... Haha

IU impressively made their point. Time for Cignetti to get starters out

Great for fans to keep running it up, but one major injury on defense or offense and you can blow the chance for a national title ....

Raiders having trouble getting their offense going

1st quarter: 6 plays for -2 yards Oregon should have kicked that 2nd FG for a 6-0 lead.

Committee didn't leave ND or Vandy out

Committee simply ranks the teams based on a criteria approved by the Conference Chairs. Then based on guidelines and rules approved by these same Conference Chairs a 12 team playoff bracket is formed. The Committee did not set the rules that a ranked G5 team would qualify. The Committee did not set the rule that 5 top Conference Champs would get an auto bid. The same Conferences who are now complaining set these rules. Period. End of story.... Fans who are complaining about the Committee letting JMU or Tulane into the playoffs are frankly being lazy. It's the Conference Chairs that need to make any changes. ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/21/2025, 8:30:09 AM

The ACC tiebreakers are what screwed it up....

If ACC had Miami vs Virginia then you would have had Miami and ND in the field most likely... Or at least ND and UVA (who would have earned it with a win over Miami)

So the annual end of year Big X and SEC tournament....

Not sure how that brings back any glory to winning a conference championship... Would probably do the opposite....

I guess I haven't reached your syndical level yet about committee

For conference to avoid a potential disaster scenario the ACC was literally just in I would say it would be smart to have it higher up the list. Yeah, I realize it is more of a beneficial move for the conference than to any one team.

Seems a little unrealistic & bent to your side of discussion doesn't it?

In addition, before we get to the unrealistic poll switch you created, the tie breakers would need to go through common games and common opponents ... Also in this scenario, with current tiebreakers who says Clemson wouldn't be chosen as well ... Similar to how Duke received it this year? I clearly see the subjective side of rankings. And I admit that the reason for adding this in the tiebreakers is basically $$. To help the conference have the best chance of getting a team or two into the playoffs. ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/11/2025, 5:03:47 PM ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/11/2025, 5:08:00 PM ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/11/2025, 5:10:44 PM

Conf is too big so some tiebreakers based on insufficient & inadequate data

1. H2H 2. Common Games 3. Common Opponents 4. Rankings IMO no need to go past these four options.

And I see that the ACC is now pushing for 16 teams as early as next year.

I'm guessing sooner our later Conference Championship Games may simply go away ... ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/10/2025, 4:00:04 PM

I would prefer everyone have a little optimism, but nothing over the top.

It's like we have a group that enjoys looking for negatives and a group that would follow basically anyone into the fire without water ... Little in between.... Haha

Didn't Tech average 10 wins a season while Stiney was OC?

Yeah, he wasn't great but it seems like the team did well overall during those years.

Haven't really seen a polarized response to it yet ...

Pry has a proven track record as a DC for a big P4 team, as well as, proven track record with Franklin... Not sure why it would be all that polarizing ...

Bama and Miami

Fanduel and Draft Kings already had odds for ND ... Haha Oops ... ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 12/7/2025, 12:34:14 PM

No issues with it

IMO we have a coach who really bought into being a Hokie and accepted an offer to stay. He's now in a position that he has proven himself to be very solid. And Tech has a new coach that has a DC he trusts and believes in. Win/Win in my book

Depends on if Duke wins

If Duke wins then Miami vs Duke If Duke loses then Miami vs Ga Tech

In their defense, why would you want to stay???

This team is so predictably bad ... UVA is going to have a field day next week ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 11/22/2025, 1:28:30 PM

One major focus for Franklin needs to be the mentality on D

They simply can't stop anyone consistently.... And any 4th down play against them is basically a guarantee it seems .... Is it terrible play calling or players just consistently choking when chance to get off the field??? ** Edited by MaryWashGrad at 11/22/2025, 12:42:02 PM
