   I would be really disappointed if we were 2-2 at the end of September. We will be playing below our ability and talent level if we don't beat VMI, ODU, and BC. Maryland will be a test to see how good this team is early, followed by a second test with pesky Pitt. 3-1 in September I can understand, but not 2-2.

      Yeah while preseason rankings don’t mean much, Maryland and Boston College are predicted to finish at the bottom of their conferences. We’re predicted to be a mid-level ACC team. 2-2 would be very very disappointing IMO.

   Missed opportunity to pick Huhn to be all-ACC, but not with the Hokies. I do think his spot is precarious unless Grunk transfers at the end of this year.

   This year is about being competitive and making progress, regardless of the record. If VT has a few close games that don’t go the Hokies’ way at the end but the team doesn’t beat itself and plays solid football then the final record will be easier to accept. If we get more Bad News Bears-type performances then that will be a different matter….

   It sounds like Pry hasn't learned from his prior mistakes. I have gone on the record as saying I wasn't a fan of making him DC. This does nothing to alleviate that feeling. Oh well, IIWII... But it seems like an "own goal" that wasn't necessary.

      Nokie good point, cross training didn't help and that was Pry's decision. Now DC, Ouch!

   I'm still concerned about Pry's ability to develop linebackers. The cross-training emphasis is a little disquieting, as is the last few years worth of subpar performance. Yeah, I know about Micah Parsons. But I think Micah Parsons himself had a lot to do with that. I hope it works out, but I'll be a little skeptical until it does.
