Posting History (30)

Basically because Head to Head Miami BEAT ND.

When you have most everything equal (SOS, record, etc) then it is so easy to argue that when you played Head to Head the winner should have the clear advantage. Comparing to Alabama once again is subjective as they never played one another and truthfully no one is getting in over a SEC team when all appears to be equal as they carry the money and power with ESPN and voters alike. I agree Alabama should have been left out losing this late in the season, but they wanted to show that playing in a championship game and losing won't punish you and playing head to head then the winner has the advantage. THAT is why ND had to fall on the sword - this a long term play for future voting and anyone that doesn't have a fight in those 3 teams can see WHY the committee chose the 2 out of the 3 they did.

Last 3 plays

When you specialize in something like punting then you learn to punt to a sideline or angle it etc. Also Receivers short arming catches and losing focus is why we lose. There is a thing called PRIDE and we show none of it

Class personified! Thanks for the link

Will certainly miss him at VT but happy for his opportunity and I wish him nothing but the best.

Which VT Player would you bet is taken first in this weekend's NFL Draft?

Feels like I have seen quite a few of our former players listed first in mock drafts.

I'll Play

NBA PG - Magic Johnson SG - Michael Jordan SG - Larry Bird PF - Tim Duncan C - Wilt Chamberlain WNBA PG - Diana Taurasi SG - Maya Moore SF - Tamika Catchings PF - Candace Parker C - Lisa Leslie

Gordon

I really wish Maddie and her older sister Kate Gordon (JMU alum) had attended VT (if we even offered?). Kate had a great career at JMU with 71 HRs and a career .407 BA. Her shining moment was the HR that toppled Oklahoma in the WCWS game in the opening game. Was fun watching this interview and seeing Maddie grown up. I just knew their father well as he was the catcher on my little league team way back in the early 80s and that little school of Page County rarely puts out D1 college athletes in any sport. Thanks for posting!

Guess I should answer

Based on limited observation and strictly watching the stroke Cattoor (based on history I can't have someone above him) Young - just loved his shooting stroke Rechsteiner - again very smooth and confident Nickel - proven shot from High School days still there Pedulla - but I really considered Beran here - his shot is very good for a 4/5

Agree

Beran was much more fluid and aggressive on defense. Seemed more agile. Nickel wasn't as large as I expected and seemed more trim than I remembered at UNC (like you said a bit preconceived of what i was expecting and got).

PURE shooter question

I was curious on a small sample size of one game but on this team how would you rank who the best PURE shooters are on our roster? Say top 5 since we have quite a few to choose from - I've actually struggled thinking how I would rank 2-5 based on form, shot release and ball trajectory.

Sweet 16 Buzz Team vs MY ACC Champ team - 3 game series

How do you see that series playing out with different styles and player abilities? I get its hypothetical but if you were analyzing which squad would you prefer to have the advantage? Said a 3 game series to allow for some adjustments over games 2 or 3 if needed. :)

Kind of Shocked we didn't get TA&M for the Buzz/VT hype

I know they base it mainly off records but sometimes its all for the TV hype too.

Tough Competition

Looked at the list of just FBS players included and must say that included some real studs that should be no brainers getting in. Not sure how many they take but just FBS had so many that I thought were locks! Going to be interested to see who gets in off this list.

MJ Collins bucket at end of game

Obvious because timing of play but more because of all players on the floor at the time he had the guts to take the shot when the other 4 were more obvious choices.

Is he a Jeff Allen type player?

Seems to be skilled at low post, longer arms than height suggests, tank like build and has multitude of offense moves. Just seems to have a similar skillset - wondering if those that have seen or know more would think it's a fair comparison?
