Posting History (131)

I think the replacement opponent would impact must win status....

to follow along your example.....changing a JMU game to a Miami or SMU level of opponent...it would be a nice to win, but not maybe must win.

2026 Season Start

Looking ahead to the beginning of the 2026 Season... with VMI, ODU, JMU, and Maryland the first 4 games....and several being old thorns and sore losses.... what is the groups opinion on the needed win count? Personally I think anything less than a 4-1 start with loss being MD being viewed as lack of improvement in games VT "should" win.

MS State vs VT

My son's decision to go to MS State ( as Veteran - thus instate pricing ) as EE major.. is looking better and better..great education at 1/2 the price of VT engineering in state. Way better athletic program.....more fun to watch......VT is overpriced and over rated.

How much of the state of the program is on Coach Pry versus

lack of investment in Athletics overall...basically the Whit's speech to the BOV? ....and if the later how much money would be needed, and is that figure reasonable to expect from this fan base/demographics (e.g., no oil money?)

the number empty seats in the bowl game seem to antidotally agree.....

The fans smell a rat...... as what made college sports better than professional sports slowly dies.

Not missing Fuente, not liking what NIL and portal have combined to do to

College sports, no loyalty to a school or program...all about self over team and money ( good for the few players it works out for....bad for fans who pay the bills).....still don't like celebrity coaches...and MV1 was an amazing college QB, not sure how he will do as a coach.

Per Google AI....In college football, a "complete catch" means ....

In college football, a "complete catch" means a player secures control of the ball in flight before it touches the ground, then touches the ground inbounds with any part of their body while maintaining complete control of the ball long enough to perform a football-related action, like taking a step or avoiding a defender, without losing control during the process of contacting the ground; essentially, they must fully possess the ball throughout the act of hitting the ground to be considered a catch.

The HOKIES have come full circle this year....

Things are back to like it was when I was at Tech in the early 90s...the football and basketball wins will come as pleasant surprises.....and we can just watch the games to support and cheer on our team.
