Wow, I’ve had work trips to Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and even Tyumen, but
always thought of Vladivostok as the hinterland andremote. Cant imagine living there.

How about Olympics soccer?
I don't hate soccer, but agree, I don't watch unless it’s WC or Olympics. When we lived in London we watched EPL and some other Euro soccer, but I just don't have time/patience to follow anymore.
I liken it to the Olympics - I never follow track and field, skiing, volleyball etc but love watching these sports in the Olympics.

Anybody know why Canada had to play in Houston rather than Toronto?
Seems like a co-host country would get to play at home similar to Mexico playing in Mexico City next.
Edit - never mind, I see now that because they finished 2nd in their group they had to play at a US venue. If they finished 1st in their group, they would have played in Canada.

He should have had a goal a few minutes prior. They need to adopt the
Wenger rule where the entire body has to be beyond the defender. Having a shoulder ahead is not cherry picking in my opinion. Thats ridiculous.

Well, now days its playing 16 minutes, 10 of which is standing in one of
the faceoff circles during a power play. Defensive zone faceoffs are no-nos.

I’d be curious to see that. I read his payment is effectively an 8% annual
return on deferred money. Stock market over the last 25 years is around 10% annual return assuming you reinvest all dividends. If you assume Mets’ ownership has an almost zero risk of default, the risk-adjusted payment annual return doesn’t sound that bad. Not saying the finance guy is wrong but I’d be curious how he adjusts for “risk”. Also not sure if there are any tax benefits vs taking it all up front? I assume he now lives in a tax friendly state like Florida.
