VT basketball has always been average. We don't have the money that UVA, UNC, Duke, Miami, etc., has and finishing in the middle of the ACC is about all we can reasonably ask for.

Agree. Teams with great defenses win...almost always.

The offense can be hit or miss depending on many variables but defense only requires athleticism and effort. Defense is just one reason that Duke is one of the premier teams in the US. Defense is why Tony Elliott's boring offensive approach was still a big time winner. Many disagree, but VT has had few great defensive teams. Just my .02 cents

This quote from today's Roanoke Times is revealing: Virginia Tech ranks 15th in the ACC in scoring defense (73.8 ppg) and 14th in field-goal percentage defense (42.7 ppg). "We're guarding well," Young said. "We haven't been as good in the second half." VT is not good defensively.

Just calling it as i see it..

I don't wear orange and maroon glasses every day like some do. I have watched VT basketball for over 50 years and have season tickets. I love Mike Young but am disappointed in how the team is playing. I've read many of your posts and you make some good points but don't have all the answers. I hope I am wrong but, unless things change (and they might with the return of 2 more starters) I doubt we can finish in the top 5 of the ACC...which I was hoping for in the preseason.

If you are a high 3 star or 4 star...

high school football player are you going to commit to VT at this point in time? I serioulsy doubt it, especially if you have adults in your life who are looking out for your best interest. I would tell my son to wait and see if Pry pulls a rabbit out of his hat in 2025 and then, and only then, can you commit to VT because if he doesn't get the rabbit he will not be at VT after 2026. Just my .02 cents
