Playing limited minutes but looking like the same ole Georgia as far as playmaking ability and her ability to be the floor general.

Right now, she is distributing more. She has Citron and post players to feed. When I have watched, it feels like she gets screens on the wing but the screener or another player don't go too far away, then you have too many people near the sideline...as an example.

Olivia Summiel, Kayana Traylor, Rose Micheaux, Matilda Ekh, Kilah Freelon, Mel Daley... wearing a Hokie uniform representing Tech on and off the court but I guess none of them were true Hokies. Georgia Amoore will always be a Hokie to me. She gave Tech 100% effort when she was a Hokie. She got her degree from Tech. She was a fan favorite. We have to accept the reality that we live in the era of the transfer portal. Sure, it would've been great to see Georgia play one more year at Tech but we had a new coach and new system. Georgia had dreams of playing in the WNBA and she felt sticking with Kenny Brooks was her best move. Taylor Soule felt leaving Boston College would help her professionally as did Olivia Summiel who left Wake Forest. Kayana Traylor left Purdue. Kilah Freelon left Texas Tech. Mel Daley left Northwestern. It's just the time we live in, love it or hate it.

All the players you listed are considered VT players. Kayana Traylor just went to Fever camp. Where did they say she was from? VT. Here is her profile in WNBA, notice the college. https://www.wnba.com/player/1641672/kayana-traylor/profile
Here is Ekh's. https://basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Matilda-Ekh/4110...

Glad to see from recent postings that sensible fans, who appreciate Georgia's many contributions, clearly outnumber the few who somehow feel personally offended that a player might actually decide for themselves on a new challenge after giving everything to VT.

They announce where she’s from and it says KY. So yes a Hokie but not one that held place to her heart. Liz and Carlei do. Georgia is Georgia. Very good player . Has vt degree. But livez Brooksesqud way more than being Hokie. It’s new world we live in. Get use to it is all we can do . That said Carleigh will forever be a Hokie. Something special about that.

She went off on UT and single handily broke the OSU press that took UConn apart.
If she doesn't come back into the OSU game after taking a pretty significant hit in the head, that team's season ends in Seattle.

She was. She is . The new world of college athletics put an asterisk besides her name. That’s all many see and think. Not what she did as player. She’s from Australia. No way the girl really knows the love VT fan base has for theirs. It hurt many she followed Brooks . In reality it’s a compliment to her. She was loved that much . It’s over now . Again it says she’s from KY. Not the place she got a degree.

PA says from KY. No matter how many games she played. 35games at KY took that away f. It’s ok dude but all transfers go down with different name. Mo matter how you spill it. We get transfers to. I understand game is played differently. I accept that. I will always hold higher standard the ones that graduated VT and finished careered at vt .

I wasn't bothered by her leaving and following Brooks to Kentucky. If she had stayed, she might have been the difference in getting the team to the tournament that season but I think in the long run, Georgia might have slowed the progression of this becoming Carleigh's team to lead. I have no ill will for Georgia now and I didn't when she left. Carys Baker and Mackie Nelson leaving bothers me more than Georgia.

Anyone that transfers that changes sadly. Amoore did much for VT. She graduated indeed from VT. Mike Vick is a legend. Liz is a legend. Tincher is a legend. Queen also. Not sure I can say one is that is from KY. I do appreciate the 4 years.

Mike left because he was going 1st in the NFL draft. Absolutely no one would stick around in that situation, and definitely not back then before our current "pay for play" environment.
(In response to this post by reestuart)
2mo
Georgia was more loyal because she played at Tech 4 years, got a degree and then ran off to UK, that Mike was by just playing 2 years and then going pro as the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft.
If Mike didn't go to the pros as the #1 overall pick, he would have been declared certifiably insane.

Michael did not "stick around and finish" - but he did enough in two years (three, if you count his promised Redshirt season), than many do in 4-5. And, he did not jump to another school, and I thought that's what DGHOKIE meant, but just making certain.

How many records does Liz have again? Amoore was definitely not the best player on that team. The only reason she had the opportunity to play in the Seattle region was because of who she played with. Dont let the fact that teams game planed to stop Liz which gave Georgia opportunities cloud your mind.

You don't get to decide who is and isn't a Hokie and it is TOTAL BS to suggest not only that she isn't one now but that she never was. It's your kind of commentary that gives her more reason to feel like Virginia Tech isn't a place she is welcome anymore - but then you'll be the first to criticize her for not coming back.
I hate that she went to Kentucky...but part of the reason why is because it opens the gate for stupid, crappy, uninformed comments like this about her and her relationship with VT.

She was a part of a great peak in VT WBB then a part of a stripping down of the same program. She is kind of like Buzz who got us to a sweet 16 then left seriously damaging that years recruiting.
If Buzz had not stripped the recruiting class and if Brooks had not done the same thing, both would be seen in a more positive light.
Had GA just said she wanted to win an NC and had gone to LSU.USCe or UConn and went alone, she would be seen in a more positive light. But she was a part of a systemic stripping down of our WBB program. That makes everything different to a certain segment of Hokies.
(In response to this post by I love VT!)
2mo
Hold him accountable for what he did and her accountable for what she did. As has been discussed on here ad nauseum, she handled a tough situation very well. He did not.
Buzz was a coach and an employee of the university. Comparing the two of them is really nonsensical...just completely different situations, circumstances, and motivations.
And while you may view our WBB program as "stripped down", I honestly do not think there was a bone in Georgia's body that intended for her decision to actively hurt Virginia Tech or "strip down" anything here. She put more blood, sweat, and tears into VT women's basketball than you ever did.
Again, I hate that she left...but you are making up stories in your own head about her motivations that say more about you than her.

Is it not a simple fact that, no matter what her motivation was, she did join in the stripping down of our roster?
Are the comparisons of Buzz to KB not accurate? Maybe Buzz was more honest as he did take recruits but not the existing roster. KB took both but he was not a pied piper for GA or Strack. They made their own decisions.
(In response to this post by I love VT!)
2mo
You also compared Buzz to Amoore, not just Buzz to KB. Wrong road. Go ahead and compare coach to coach. But, wealthy coach to a women's basketball player? Not the same.

Brooks did pretty much the same thing Buzz did except Buzz conspired (Yes that is my word) to take a supposedly good recruiting class and Brooks took both recruits and the best 2 players from the roster.
The Buzz recruits dissed VT to go with Buzz, the Brooks players dissed VT to go with him. Looks exactly the same to me.
Georgia Amore chose to exit as a part of a multi player exit. That is the sore point.

No one stating her importance. Her degree either. WNBA announcers say from KY. Many see the asterisk of just that. Many also getting adjusted to new world of nil . In time if Georgia desires to come back to Blacksburg it’s on her. Plenty time to show her love for VT as much as the fans love for her . They will come back . Just many have no reason to currently. Like I said in another post . VT fan base all in all had her as theirs . It hurt seeing her follow Brooks.

who take classes here as a Hokie, and many of those people continue to support VT and particpate here.
That is the norm for many universities. As a reference point, PSU does the same thing. It is one of the reasons they have such a high number of "alumni" and supporters.

is a common thing that men say exclusively to women and in that context it is a sexist remark.
If you would honestly say it equally to a group of men and women then fine, but that's not the case 99% of the time, and if it IS the case here it's very easy to not be misinterpreted by just being aware of it and not saying it.
