Rugby like contact permitted in the ACC? Have you watched the WNBA? It’s

a wonder that some of the women, Caitlin Clark, I’m looking at you, don’t end up in the ER. Back to the subject line post…unfortunately, WBB in general has been allowed to become just a physical nightmare of a game. They’ve taken the finesse totally out of the game. One of the reasons, Liz probably didn’t make it.

I also see it under Chip’s response. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 7/19/2026, 3:03:58 AM

“Fan favorite” and “revered” are probably understatements. And how about

that line drive to left on a 1-2 count. Glad to see Bre, and Cory and Kylie, finding success in the PSL. Not sure how it works, but perhaps the AUSL takes notice at some point in the future as well. Edit: So another great thing about that clip, on the back end, I was able to watch the 2025 Michelle Chatfield and Annika Rohs ACC Access human interest piece. What a great story. Well done by the ACCN. And lo and behold, then I was able to relive the 6th and 7th inning of the 2025 Hokies vs Stanford “triple-play game.” It’s getting me fired up for fall 🥎. Haha. Thanks Chip. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 7/11/2026, 9:13:36 AM

Great, experienced, add in a position of need. Looking forward to those

Clemson and Louisville games this year 🍿. Let’s goooo…..!!!! ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 7/7/2026, 1:38:28 PM

Perhaps all the Liberty haters will ease off a bit. *Our* obsession with

Liberty, at times, across all sports amuses me. Like with any other team, Carolina, WVU, UVa, Louisville, etc…hate them if you’d like, but the very best medicine we can ever give an opponent is to beat them, and win, consistently. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 7/3/2026, 7:20:27 PM

Arianna Harris-Mott sure looks taller than her listed height of 6’4”. Maybe

it’s just the way Aniya Trent @ 6’3” is standing in that first pic. In any event, have read some really good things about how Harris-Mott plays the game. Here’s hoping she buys in, works hard and develops. Perhaps this freshman/RS freshman class will take us back to the proverbial WBB promised land.

This is a Bre Peck appreciation post…

Pictures from her first Florida Vibe professional game sent to me by her grandfather, Chase. Photo credit within ea. picture. She plays the game with joy. That last pic is of her walk off HR. Glad to see her happy and healthy. Go be great 88…! ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 6/14/2026, 11:51:07 AM

This is your reminder that Bre Peck plays softball again tonite for the

first time since May 17, 2025. Believe you can stream the games via the Florida Vibe website. Thought it said you may be able to watch the games on TruTV (not certain about that)?

Worked. That said, the site has been kicking my a$$ recently. Back to kick

-ing me off constantly. Having to clear my history/cache’ and relogging in several times throughout the day. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Thought all of that had been *fixed*?

Loved me some “Rit.” Saw Peck hit a few bombs and was at a game where Cori

got a hold of one that seemed like landed well into Lot 2 where the porta-johns are for football. It still might be in the air 😂.

The improvement year-over-year says a ton about Kylie and the program

overall. That said, I’d put her on a recruiting poster board to answer the question, “What results can I expect as a student athlete if I put in the work?” Look no further than Kylie Aldridge. The person she is, and the team leadership was icing on the cake, and that’s not doing it justice. The young lady will win at life. She’s a really good one. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 5/19/2026, 1:01:00 PM

Aye. Lisfranc fracture in her foot explains why her time behind the plate

was so limited. Can’t imagine the pain that would cause catching for 7 innings. Loved watching Kylie play and develop as the person and softball player she is today. A really special and talented person, and student athlete. A great young lady. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 5/18/2026, 5:43:45 PM

Done. Thanks for a really good season Coach Pete, asst. coaches, players,

trainers, managers, etc. Thanks as well to all who made this a pretty special season despite not advancing beyond the regionals. Feel like this program is so close. Finally, thank you, Chip. Your (and Bonnie’s of course), relentless support of the Hokie softball program, and these outstanding young ladies, is contagious. In Pete We Trust. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 5/18/2026, 12:45:28 PM

That’s a great edit. Bre was probably one of the most versatile players to

don a Hokie softball uniform. Of course her bat speaks for itself. Glad she’s healthy and wishing her big time success at the next level.

Been watching extended clips of his matches. Did he win the championship

@ 65-kg? This says he did? ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 4/25/2026, 10:03:23 PM

Well he’s a senior, and Gurdak’s true sophomore. So in Heide it’s what you

see is what you get. Hated to lose Gurdak. He was one of my favorite players this past year. Dude just worked and gave full effort while he was on the floor. He’s going to be very good over the next 3-years.
