Heard tonight that she’s having a really good spring. As a RS freshman it

will be all about assimilating to the speed and physicality of the college game. Having been here for a full year, around, and traveling with the team, it shouldn’t be a surprise. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come with Kate.

Kayl Petersen going home. Headed to Marquette…

Team player. Understood her role. High basketball IQ. I’ll miss watching her play and wish her nothing but success.

Have an idea. Knock down TSP. Let the ladies play in English Field. If

there’s a scheduling conflict the baseball team can play in Salem on those days, until the University can pony up the $$$ to provide a venue Coach and the team deserve. In the meantime, the money charged for conference games, since English Field will allow for that, can go toward the new TSP coffers.

Bree struck out 2 of those batters twice, raising her K total to 6. Also,

believe I heard the ACCN announcers say that Virginia hasn’t been shutout since April 2024. Tech broke a 2-year long streak. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 4/13/2026, 12:08:08 AM

Where there’s smoke. You just don’t up and fire a coach who is days removed

from a Sweet 16 run. Her public persona was pretty abrasive, but a lot of them are (WBB coaches that is). I guess when that pours over into how you treat your staff…not great, Bob. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 4/5/2026, 7:39:30 PM

SIR: UK’s RS freshman 6’5” C Elsa Vadfors is in the portal. Played in

Sweden in primary school, and a bit professionally. Not sure of her development path/ceiling. Maybe Tilly can put in a good word for us. Haha. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 4/5/2026, 2:18:17 PM

Forced to play out of position b/c of the roster make up I guess. Believe

she may want to be in a system that is less *transition style* and plays with pace, vs. being in more of a half court run system. She’ll graduate and be a Hokie for life in my book. Enjoyed watching her play.

Doesn’t everyone want to play for a Nat’l Championship? Baker is graduating

in May, so she’ll be a grad transfer. Hearing she wants to play what she believes her natural position - 3. Hearing with Mackie it might be about what she wants to pursue from an educational standpoint. It’s not always as it seems. We need to remember that.

Reason I asked, is I went to the home UVA series last yr. Szefc bunted his

clean up hitter early in the game to move a runner in game that I think was scoreless/very low scoring at the time. Yes, just to move runner. I actually audibly yelled, “What are you doing.” Some Hokie fans were yelling at, that it was a good baseball play. I obviously disagreed. Let your clean up hitter hit the d$!n ball. So hence the question. When a suicide squeeze or bunt is actually called for, did he call for it? Yes, we hosted in ‘22, but the goodwill from that year is wearing thin…on me, anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Actually maybe it is…nvm

Kayl Petersen to the portal. Talk about a team first player. Reduced min-

-utes this year derailed by injury, but always contributed. Really loved her effort and watching her play. Will miss seeing her in Hokie uniform.

Took a screen shot of Anni running out of the dugout, after Michelle’s game

winner against NC St. Thought the water splashing out of her cup looked like the shape of a 🧡, or at least a half of one…haha… ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 3/25/2026, 3:59:08 PM

That’s where I *hope* Kate Sears can help. If she can become a threat

from 3-pt land when she’s in the game, that will hopefully open up the floor and resolve *some* of the spacing issues. Amoore, King and Ekh helped that so much while they were here. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 3/21/2026, 6:11:42 PM
