Whenever that baseball concept comes up "due for a hit", it reminds me of the George Will book "Men at Work". It's a very common baseball concept that fans use even when a career .200 hitter is up with runners on base. Will say, No way" - a .200 hitter is never due for a hit - that's precisely why he's a .200 hitter - he doesn't get many hits. Maybe VT coach believes his team was "due for a hit" all those times with the bases loaded. If "due for a hit" had any truth to it, there would never be any no-hitters thrown. I know your comment to this post is going to be "Wait, you read a book?"

clean up hitter early in the game to move a runner in game that I think was scoreless/very low scoring at the time. Yes, just to move runner. I actually audibly yelled, “What are you doing.” Some Hokie fans were yelling at, that it was a good baseball play. I obviously disagreed. Let your clean up hitter hit the d$!n ball. So hence the question. When a suicide squeeze or bunt is actually called for, did he call for it? Yes, we hosted in ‘22, but the goodwill from that year is wearing thin…on me, anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️.
