You guys are giving me way too much credit. The money raised from bats is
a small % of Chip's total. It does provide a nice piece of memorabilia for family and fans, it's unique in it's presentation, the players seem to like it (hope it makes them feel special, gives them pride to autograph one and more pride when they autograph more and more) It was started to help give the players some NIL but the memorabilia factor for fans and family cannot be denied.

BW might be wise to work WITH Chip, even to the point of leaving him alone
to work his magic. The bigger projects that softball "deserves" are something else. Chip walks kind of funny but he ain't broken so don't try to fix him. :-)

Or any path they must to avoid the fielder. It doesn't have to be a
direct path. Infield pop up on a windy day can make for an intertesting "dance" by the fielder and the runner.

games of the younger players as difficult as the speed of the games with older players.

I found when an umpires hustles, the fans appreciate the work. The ump who
conducts himself like he is part of the "show" of the game, usually creates his own trouble.

Correct. Runner may be in her base path but her timing and placement
in the base path can both be wrong.

Took the front path, should have taken the back path. The fielder could
have fielded the ball and tagged the runner, that's why the runner should go behind the fielder, makes the tag almost impossible.
There are fine points of the game that even experienced players don't know.

Runner should have run behind the fielder but runners first thought is the
base path - can't run outside the base path!!!! oh my!!. well, yes you can in certain situations.
Here's another scenario - bases loaded with the infield up on the grass, in front of the base paths. Ball hit on the ground between 3rd baseman and shortstop, grounder goes past where the fielders were lined up, they are not fielding the ball because the ball is not in front of them anymore they are chasing the ball. 3rd baseman and runner from 2nd base have contact in the base path between 2nd base and 3rd base That's fielders interference on the runner because the fielder is not fielding the batted ball, he was chasing the batted ball.

Distraction can be enough but there was more than distraction in this case.
The fielder altered her normal fielding motions to avoid the runner, when it's the runners job to avoid the fielder, and leave the fielder free to field the ball.

The runner must allow the fielder to field the ball. If a runner standing
on 2nd base, STANDING with her foot on 2nd base, is hit by a line drive with a fielder behind ready to catch the ball - the runner is out - runners interference. Fielder has right to base path over the runner when fielding a batted ball. Runner is expected to avoid the fielder.

As a former hi school ump, I'm good with that call. Runner caused the
fielder to change her natural motions of fielding the grounder to avoid the runner.
The fielder would have continued forward motion to field that grounder. She stopped her forward motion and fell backwards to avoid contact with the runner.

PSL says top 3 teams make the playoffs. Smoke, Diamonds and Vibe should
be in which means all Hokies will be in playoffs. Vibe is solid in third place despite a losing record.
