GC and Zeke…
I don’t know how much TSL is paying you to be the heart and soul of this message board. But I’m sure it’s not enough. I would highly recommend that you check out the transfer portal. I hear that many ACC message boards are looking to upgrade, apparently UVA has three times as much money as we do. However, I do think you are a good fit in this system, though it’s harder to learn than what most boards run. Perhaps you shouldp divvy up the responses and go to a zone instead of this relentless man to man.

Im just a fake "guru" who would be better off letting VT crowdsource their roster decisions

Neo was a sure fire 1st round pick. We were told that us Hokies were the worst fans on the planet.
But now the pivot happens.. and justifications fly as to why he’s not a first round pick… got it 😉
Perhaps we’re still idiots…
Or perhaps the “experts” here should look into the theory of consensus decision making. It’s the idea behind asking the audience for help on a game show. It’s also the core theory that democracies themselves are founded on.
I wish Neo nothing but the best. I think he will be a great player in time. But to have a Hokie message board guru rake us all over the coals All season long and tell us we would never get another chance at a first rounder ever again - is total BS. Money talks… and.. you know the rest of the story.

he needs to learn to take a punch and punch back. As he struggled later in the year, the mental fortitude to keep punching waned.
All the while he continued to be one of the first to celebrate w/ a teammate a good play.

your postings going backwards. There's your answer. In this instance, you were right. That was easy.

Of their claim...
Thanks for corroborating what I already knew, but I didn't make the claim. They did. So I asked for examples of their claim
Hope this helps

indicating otherwise. You know, if you just weren't so snarky and contemptuous of your fellow posters, your posts might be more favorably received and considered. Some of your posts/info is good, and so are some of your opinions. That being said, in many instances your responses are framed so sarcastically and are so off-putting, a lot of posters just drown you out before reading you.
Now, you do you. I know you will. As I've said before, you are a true acolyte of Dale Carnegie.

You stepped in, not as the poster, just as some rando interjecting, and even said I was correct.
Now, when I go back to asking for the original posters evidence of their claim...im...deflecting?
It is entirely possible to just...ya know...not reply to my posts. Especially just to chime in and tell me Im correct in a matter you aren't involved in.

you said you would get back to me on. Only then did i start to realize your posting mannerisms and habits. Still, when you're not being snarky, I sometimes just give you a Plus one, and move on. As I said, you sometimes have very good opinions and insights,...sometimes not. That would be true of all of us.
Once you post on here, you're essentially indicating your availability to be responded to by anyone, whether that was the person you wanted to hear from or not. Many posters respond to my posts whether I intended to evoke their response. I find that useful, especially on a discussion board.
Will I quit following you? No! Will I quit responding to your posts at all? No! That's what happens when you join this community Will has built.

My response was already given. Use the search feature on here. Search for your own posts. Read your own snarky and contemptuous responses to other posters. That IS your answer from me.
Again, I have repeatedly said you sometimes provide good insight and good opinions. Other posters on here do also. That's why I come to TSL. If anyone is seeking attention, it is you. Talk with people on here, don't talk at them. Listen to others' perspectives and opinions, don't denigrate them. But again, you just be you. I know you will.

will go on and on, and on.
Discovering the value of the Mute feature has brought joy back into my board reading.
And some of those new features Will advised are on the way, are designed exactly for that sort of know-it-all.

his game all year to flex. If UNC is willing to pay him nearly $4MM to play there, the indication is VT fans hating on his game have been incorrect about what we had with Neo. The $4MM offer is an attempt by UNC to compete with his prospects in the NBA draft, as it is competitive with what Neo might get on an NBA contract in late round 1/early round 2.

flourish as a Hokie. My point being that GCHokie was howling at the moon about how all hokie fans were idiots and we didn’t deserve to have a player like Neo - becasue he was a guaranteed first round pick.
If Neo goes to UNC as reported, then he wasn’t a first round pick.
I think, I was just saying that there is a guru among us who an absolutely REFUSES to be wrong about anything - even though he force-fed us all the narrative that Neo was a GUARANTEED first rounder all season long. If anyone dared question this judgement, he doubled down on it - often resulting in name calling and berating posters. (Many of us thought Neo needed an additional year to adjust - and those people were blown out of the water for saying as much - eventhough we were honest about it and generally pulling for Neo all along).
That’s all. Nothing more to this post. I thought our board guru would show a little humility and own up to it.
I was wrong. 😳
If GC spent 1/3 of his time on this board educating fans vs trolling them, we would all
be genius fans, right?
I also think, sometimes, fans just want to be fans. Nothing more, nothing less.
As far as Neo goes, I’m really happy for him! Good job, and I think he made the best possible deal for himself - the way I see it. I would have done the same thing.
On a personal note, my daughter is currently playing college sports (not basketball), two of my first cousins played D1 sports (one as a Hokie) and I work with two former VT O-linemen, and a good friend of mine that lived beside me growing up was the starting quarterback for VT for a couple of years.
So… I’m a vested college sports fan. I got my undergraduate from VT. I’m a hokie through and through.
No need for me to reference GCHokie’s former posts to prove to himself that he was saying these things and how he continually called us all idiots. Anyone that spent any time here knows what was said. I usually just sit back and read. But I’ve been patiently waiting all season to point out the fact that GC was incorrect here. GC will argue that Neo taking 4 mil is apples to apples to a late first round pick. But GC also argued that another year in college made him older and therefore less desirable to NBA teams - so Neo transferring was off the table. He can either own it - or continue to talk trash about it, maybe he will talk theoretical circles around it. I won’t engage any further. I know what was said.
$4 mil… is more than I will ever make in a year. Great job to Neo. I also think he will make a vast improvement in year two. I’ll be pulling for him (when he’s not playing the Hokies).

If you can find a post where I used the word guarantee in regards to Avdalas being drafted first round
I have for sure stated this message board has no clue what a first rounder looks like...which still holds
But dont just make up things to be mad about

Who says things like, "I never said that." "Show me where I said that."
This person will have implied something, but always seems to have some BS "wiggle room" out of it, even though what they said implies something, the defense is, "Show me where I said those *exact* *words*." Slimy, if you ask me.
That person also has an overblown ego.
Now, having said that, I have witnessed you on the right side of things against this obvious New York Yankee fan. So, in regards to him, you know what I am talking about.

of you. Since you lump the entire message board together in regards to not having a clue what a first rounder looks like...And since you must know about each message board member's background and lack of expertise, please address every member individually to provide some proof of their lack of expertise. Go ahead...we are all waiting. OR OR...you could just argue with and degrade the one person you are engaging instead of lumping the board as one viewpoint/stance. But I would love the viewpoints without the injection of all the other stuff, but I doubt that is going to happen

Getting millions of dollars to play for a former NBA championship winning coach on a bluest of blue blood team proves that he's not a 1st round possibility? There are many potential draft picks staying in school this year.
