Love me some 757 questions. And he is very active in NSU activities and has

donated considerable sums to his school. ** Edited by Stork at 7/31/2026, 7:33:03 AM

OK, the Search feature seems to be non-working. I can’t remember if you had

said you were in US Virgin Islands or not. If you are, and get a chance, run by The Deep End Bar and Grill. At the Tamarind Reef Hotel. The bar recently purchased by my son-in-law’s father. Paul Blair. He’s and ODU alum, and will take care of you. ** Edited by Stork at 7/27/2026, 1:40:49 PM

They had their largest claim center in Norfolk until recently. They sold

the building and cut staff considerably. My wife actually works in their old building.

Ever see the guy who had a stuffed polar bear in a glass box in

Sandbridge? That was always a great topic to get a girl to go driving down there late at night.

Good to see the Navy keeping watch. As a kid, I lived at that Officer’s

Beach. It was an absolute journey back in the 60’s & 70’s. But my old man, Navy Pilot that he was, demanded we pack up the car and drive down there, taking forever. Rather than the 5 minute drive to the VB resort area. I can still smell the snack bar grill and Sea N Ski. ** Edited by Stork at 7/24/2026, 10:14:14 AM

You haven’t lived until you must inspect a crawlspace where the drain line

from the kitchen sink/disposal had been dumping into the crawl for months. It was like crawling towards rotted/festering Cole slaw. I laid there for minutes asking myself what the frick I was doing there. And questioning why I had gone to college to do this. Truly disgusting. I should write a book.

I’ve seen a lot of encapsulated crawlspace. Anyone who goes to that expense

is pretty serious about proper maintenance of the home. The only thing I’d be careful of, is if it was done just recently, then likely done for the future sale. And could indicate there were/are moisture issues going on there. The expectation of course, is that encapsulation resolves/solves those issues. As someone who lives on the coast, with Sandy soil also, that can be a big issue. It’s good you’re inspecting in summer. With humidity, interior moisture issues will show up. Check hardwood floors for cupping. A good indicator moisture down below. I’d ask if any guarantees provided by the mitigation vendor transfer over to you, the new buyer.
