I watched every game Miles Heide played over the last 2 or 3 years.
IMO you guys got a very good player. Some Aztec fans will disagree with me. So be it, to each his own.
On the positive side...Miles is a solid big. A 3 year starter at center for a team that consistently flirts with the Top 25 and makes the NCAA Tourny (first team out this season).
Miles was our best rebounder per minute played the last years...He is non stop hustle in all areas of the game...He is a great team player...He is strong down low on defense and offense...He is a pretty good passer. He can score down low.
Downside for Miles Heide IMO...
He is athletic, but not super athletic...He is not a good throw shooter (about 50%)...He doesnt.shoot from long range, and very seldom from mid range. He does havr potential in those areas. His form and release are fairly good.
He isn't a sky leaper but blocks a few shots. Many Aztec fans say he has bad hands. I tend to disagree a little. Many big guys have trouble gathering a pass or rebound. I thought Miles had at least avg hands. Not bad for a big guy.
A 6-10 center who is often labeled a forward. He is a Center
Love Miles Heide. I wish nothing but the best for him at Virginia Tech.

see is what you get. Hated to lose Gurdak. He was one of my favorite players this past year. Dude just worked and gave full effort while he was on the floor. He’s going to be very good over the next 3-years.

It's hard to see this team being any better next year, so far.

But that doesnt mean he cant have a similar impact in 2026-2027 that Gurdak provided in 2025-2026

one advantage Gurdak would have offered was potential and his potential went some where else. And I desperately wanted to keep Gurdak and I highly respect him,
