Michelle politely answered Berman with, "Bless your heart!"
Pete doubled down

Pretty much she had to "constrain" herself when he asked "what makes LSU b
better than VT"

Oh, you could hear it. Typical Beeman. Proud of her.
I liked how Pete doubled back in his indomitable manner.

I pulled up Kylie's career stats
A career batting average of .321 and 28 home runs. Throw in the leadership that she brought to the team, and her contributions are immeasurable. Thanks, Kylie for being a Hokie!

Imagine what she had to hit to pull that up
I had done the numbers for Anni after her sophomore year, and she would have had to hit astronomically hit to be a .300 career hitter (which some predicted she could be). For Kylie to pull up her freshman year average is a tremendous testament to her hard work.

You do not have to imagine it. Chip has it in his post.

The improvement year-over-year says a ton about Kylie and the program
overall. That said, I’d put her on a recruiting poster board to answer the question, “What results can I expect as a student athlete if I put in the work?” Look no further than Kylie Aldridge. The person she is, and the team leadership was icing on the cake, and that’s not doing it justice. The young lady will win at life. She’s a really good one. ** Edited by BackInTheBurg at 5/19/2026, 1:01:00 PM

Agree 110%. Addy Greene is also a great example
Many players would have entered the transfer portal after her sophomore year when her starts dropped from 44 games as a freshman to 18 as a sophomore. Instead, Addy worked her tail off to get better and ended up as an All-American. "Come to Virginia Tech and get better."

NFCA All-American Outfield - Addy Greene in left, Emma Ritter in center,
and Cori McMillan in right. Made a bat for a fan with all three girls names engraved that commemorates that accomplishment.

It may not show in overall playing time depending on the player
but it remains a true axiom
