Hey Bball gurus, anybody know much about Constraints Led Aprroach training
Referred to as CLA - Our new local WNBA team is making a bit of a splash using it. Iβve read a some about it but was wondering what people think.

My main takeaway from this series is a reminder....
how incredibly talented those Villanova teams were in the mid 2000 teens.
Funny thing is the year that Brunson, Hart and Bridges overlapped with them all playing significant minutes was the sandwich year between the two National Championships.

Those are Gurdak's stats. Between him, Hansberry and Dorn I'd guess....
VT got about 12 points and 8 rebounds per game out of the 5 spot.

I would bet (and very much hope) that Hansberry does not start or.....
play much at the 5 spot and Atok backs him up. I'd guess Heide starts at the 5 just based on experience and let's all hope Sagnia develops quickly.
Absolutely agree on the backcourt.

It's really all about money. Expanded NCAA 1st round games would have.....
better TV ratings than the NIT games. The NCAA owns the NIT.
It's a case of a "company" replacing a lower profitable product with a higher profitable product.

Thanks for the insight. A CBA including NIL gives me hope, but.....
It's the NCAA, so I'm not confident they'll get it right.

That's a great point. GC's answer gives me hope, but it's the NCAA, so....
They'll probably screw it up.

I would argue she was the most important player in the Seattle Regionals...
She went off on UT and single handily broke the OSU press that took UConn apart.
If she doesn't come back into the OSU game after taking a pretty significant hit in the head, that team's season ends in Seattle.

I would have sworn I saw a Hokie put a team on her back in Seattle and.....
carry them to the school's only Final Four appearance ever.

Respectfully, Brooks was not a one trick pony on talent aquistion...
Amoore, Sheppard, Soule, Traylor, Strack are all WNBA or borderline WNBA players. Not to mention other overseas professional level players.
Even if Liz is the best college player he recruited, the narrative that she was the only player that made him is just wrong.

If youβre talking about Wes Unseld, that was more like 60 years agoβ¦..
(at least his college years).
The years really run together after a while - π.

Good to hear. I was a huge Lani fan. Although appreciated here, still....
under appreciated. Played hard, ran the floor, incredibly efficient on offense. This year's team could have really used her 3 point range from the Wing.

I get that Liz was the pillar that those teams were built around, but....
Jordan never won a championship without Pippen and Liz never made the final four without Georgia.
My main point was that Brooks showed the ability to bring multiple WNBA level talent players to VT over multiple years.

Your post does a great disservice to Sheppard, Amoore, Traylor and Soule..
just to name a few. You can dislike how Brooks left, but to say his recruiting was a one hit wonder is just not accurate.

All that team had to do was hold a double digit 2nd half lead and...
I'm convinced they beat Iowa in the finals.
Iowa was a much better match up for them than LSU - Iowa's defense was not good.
Only thing that beats VT is if Clark goes off and scores 50 - possible, but not probable.

Don't forget, many players don't have a choice. There are always a few....
players that don't want to leave but will be asked to. It's a tough business.

Even if not against the rules, do you really think that the VT Athletic....
Department values participation in any non-NCAA post season tournament enough to give up much of anything in a negotiation to get that into the contract? I don't think so. Same goes for non-playoff Bowl games.

It is better, but it gets exposed when he plays too many minutes....
Just one of many problems losing TJ for so long caused.

No, not more athletic - better ball skills and moves smoother.....
Dorn's slightly more athletic, also his experience gave him an advantage on team defense principals prior to his injury.
Gurdak is better with the ball in his hands, Dorn was better without the ball, but Gurdak sure is a fast learner.

I'd like to see Trent on the floor more, including playing with Freelon....
when Baker takes a break. I admire Peterson's basketball IQ and good fundamentals, but she's undersized - something we don't need to double down on.
I'm convinced Trent can play effectively with either Baker or Freelon as the other post player.

I actually think it's the player's patience that runs out, except when....
MY thinks he can immediately upgrade (i.e. - Dorn and Gurdak over Wessler).

Mackie! There are a few keys to this team reaching it's ceiling....
One of them is Mackie being offensively efficient - low turnovers, right decisions (pass or shoot), and a high FG percentage.
She was great on all three fronts tonight.

Good news is, he's only a Sophomore and we don't have to use him this year.
You're right, his defense looks Freshman-like. No one at UD bothered to teach him any defense.
Long term, I think he'll be fine.

It's more that no one at UD taught him anything about defense. Mutts made..
the caa to acc transition seamlessly and immediately.
