Now that the season is officially over
CMD and staff did a great job in there second year with making the NCAA tournament in her second year. Next year I think we need to retain the core, and bring in some key portal pieces. If we do that we could be preseason top 25, and have a roster built to win games in the NCAA tournament. With that being said, with the college landscape now, who do we think is transferring out??? I have my predictions but interested to see who the board thinks! For what it’s worth, i think Peterson, Swanson, and Spela will transfer. ** Edited by JerryLopez5 at 3/21/2026, 12:22:01 AM

I think Baker is too "loyal" and tied to this group to leave
$$$ talks... of course. Actually, what may talk more is her father being in her eye about what she needs to do to have a chance at playing at the next level, and I don't think it will be at playing the 4. If Baker has a chance at the WNBA, it will be as a shooter. She could be like Alysha Clark who had to play in the post for much of her career in the WNBA because she didnt have an WNBA level handle and was not able to defend on the perimeter. She carved out a career as an under-sized post. Can Baker do that? Doubt it for the WNBA. Not if Liz Kitley had issues as a tall post. So, i think her role needs to evolve into the 3 at VT. I know she wants to be an all-around player. She can do that without posting people up. When she posts up, it is kind of a panicked rushed shot over her shoulder. Offseason priority: ball-handling, defending opposing 2s and 3s. She needs a steady die of defending Wenzel and Nelson in the off-season. But my point was that if her dad and her see a better opportunity to develop her outside game....This is totally speculation without any basis what so ever. I see her staying though

I can see 3/4 . At least two .
Peterson yes very possible Wells . She’s athletic and gives good effort. Not a finisher we need, I see her possible either way. Girl from Slovenia . Hear they like but has to improve on D. I think she stays. Swanson.. injury put her so far behind. Think she stays and become decent role player. Jenkins .. dunno about her. I say possible she moves closer to home . Mackie Kate Carys Aniya Carleigh All five back I hope and believe I think Suffren is back but have heard potential movement. She’s very athletic that other schools can see fit! That said she seems to get quality minutes here at VT.

Only ones not happy with PT. Kate will be a combo Guard and will take
minutes away from 1-2 current players. Jenkins, Wells, Swanson, Peterson would be on my possible list but it also could be none. Again, PT this season and looking at next season could possibly make one or two look for greener pastures.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one with plenty of playing time leaves.
Unfortunately, it no longer is just about playing time.

I would envision a guard leaving
Not predicting it. But there is not enough playing time at the 3 spots for the guards in the program, especially if Baker plays more 3 and we get a portal wing at the 3. Wenzel and Nelson are still going to get 30+ minutes a game. Either Wells or Suffren will get 12-20 depending on foul trouble, injury, or time... Some may not care about their time or role, but as rising juniors, some may care.

Don't forget, many players don't have a choice. There are always a few....
players that don't want to leave but will be asked to. It's a tough business.
