KB Final Comment...Now Move On
The man absolutely f-ed VT. He is a lying snake with no ethics. He had it made here, and we were all believers. We would have had a top 10 team next year, but he set us up, and stole most of the talent to feather his nest going forward. His cult of one (my babies, ugh) has slithered on down the road. He was a great recruiter, but NOT a good in-game coach, as evidenced how he gave away the Baylor game. Lessons learned, time to move on.
The new coach MD has the right stuff. It will take her some time to build back the program, but it will happen. Honestly, she is a breath of fresh air, without an agenda. We will support her, because that is what Hokies do. Good Luck.

If you got offered twice your current salary and more resources to do the same job, would you take it? The man did what was right for his family who is also going through a health crisis with his wife suffering from breast cancer.
If you think he wasn't trying to win, you're just wrong. That's just not true.
You need to seriously step back from the keyboard and let it go.

truth to "some" of what you are saying, KB leaving is filled with many shades of gray.
There are many perspectives to an exiting coach, and your perspective will never fully capture what actually happened, so realizing that, and toning down your opinions would be wise.
I was not happy with the events leading up to his departure, and then after, but I'm not going to sit here and try to say I know exactly where to assign blame.
I have absolutely NOTHING negative to say about KB's job performance, as he essentially hit it out of the park.
Moving on after killing it in a job is nothing new, and I understand (as should you) that it happens.
I've got nothing but respect for KB and I assume there are things that may have happened that I am simply unaware of.
That being said, resurrecting our women's basketball, putting Hokies on a National stage, numerous trips to the NCAA tournament, mentoring a 3 time ACC player of the year, a trip to the final four and a top seed, and numerous awards including coach of the year, indicate to me that Kenny gets the benefit of the doubt, and will go down in history as a great Hokie, regardless of what VTChem thinks of him.
At this point, beating this dead horse, after it has rotted, and become fossilized, only makes Hokie Nation look bad.

My synopsis of recent events is that KB took a good career opportunity while his stock was at an all-time high, wasn't classy on his way out, then VT fans got justifiably butthurt about it but went too far on social media, finally VT seemingly made a great hire to replace him and everyone is hopefully moving on. I don't know what 'side' that puts me on, but I never consider any issue as being black & white.

What exactly was slanderous in his post. I read many truths in his post.
At least what some people would believe are truths. You have come to Kenny's aid and comfort at every turn. Do you believe Kenny was totally above board and honest with his supporters and do you agree with the way Kenny abandoned his post here at VT and then raped the roster of its most prized talent not to mention VT signed recruits? Did VT pay for the recruiting of those athletes, or did Kenny come out of his own pocket for that? Did VT pay for the athletic scholarships for Strack and Amoore or was that Kenny as well? And then if that wasn't bad enough, not a word to his loyal supporters as he escapes to perceived "greener pastures". It seems you are one of the few of those supporters left.

Everything he said is true. Whether you like it or not is up to you but it’s not up to you to tell everyone else how to feel. People have put countless time and resources to help build this program and then Kenny just left without a word. Just an unclassy, douchey move no matter how you look at it. The only immature fools are the people who act like others can’t have an opinion just cause they don’t agree or like it.

....especially regarding the "snake" and no ethics part. Kenny wasn't exactly above board on his way out. I agree that at his point there's not reason to keep rehashing it over and over...but he certainly isn't due some big pat on the back and a thank you based on how he left.

the WBB achieved a level of success that few if any Hokies have achieved. This producing a thirst for more. On top of that you have plenty of folks here who for them the glass is half empty and not half full.
Patience is a virtue, VT got an upgrade in coaching staff, and the two games won in the tourneys demonstrated that KB has a boat load of talent on the bench he was not playing.
Time heals all wounds and these too shall pass.
At some point the 24-25 season will start and what is needed is to put keyboards down, dawn Hokie gear and go out and be a screaming crazy Hokie fan at the games.
