My apologies on my "Hallucination". Correction Made. What a statement.

35 yards. Thirty Five yards, and 13 yards rushing. Thirteen Yards Rushing.....over 4 quarters of football. That folks is TOTAL DOMINATION. Thats like....... The Lions vs the Lambs. The Blow Torches vs the BIC lighters. The Windshields vs the Bugs. Thats like getting taken behind the Wood Shed to be covered in Tar and Feathers and Lit on Fire, Just before Stoning you to death to stop your wining about the burning sensation. Having Bud hanging with the team is such a Huge Positive.

Having him keeping in tune with the development of the team Defensively, and having his perspective during this time, both from a Defensive Mindset as another opinion, and a visible leader of our kids, and as someone with history with the program that has a solid idea of what winning kids, winning preparation, and winning leadership looks like, is such a huge advantage for our Hokies. Not to mention, his excitement and level of participation is probably because he too wanted the Hokies to win a National Championship, and if he sees enough things going the right direction, I am sure he is excited to be a part of it, and to help shape it, and possibly to help Pry and Franklin finish what he and Beamer started. I'm Stoked, and a Life long Hokie and Bud Foster FAN. GO HOKIES!!!! ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 7/2/2026, 2:46:20 PM

Anything below 11 or 12 wins seems highly uncertain according to my numbers

I ran them through several times, combined these numbers with the numbers crunched for all opponents. The only team that provided a gray area is Miami. The numbers with Miami are inconclusive on whether Miami will be Miami when we play them in their NFL stadium. When I combine these numbers with the history showing that Miami will most likely continue being Miami, then I get that same answer every single time. VT regular season = 12 wins, and indeed, Miami will still continue being Miami. GO HOKIES!!!

Can you build a championship team with 4 and 3 star recruits.....

I say yes. It takes a football town, the right recruit chemistry, and the right coaching staff. Then the sky is the limit. Also, I would argue that 5 star recruits might just harm this delicate balance. GO HOKIES!!!!

Franklin and VT are killing it in recruiting, but....that being said.....

I definitely don't think James Franklin is giving himself 2 years to turn it around. I doubt the recruits coming in are wanting to wait 2 years to turn it around. And with all the positive news, exposure, and buzz, I truthfully think Hokie Nation as a whole is not planning to wait 2 years to turn it around. The whole idea of bringing in recruits and growing and nurturing them and keeping them in Blacksburg to build a colossal program only works if you are winning games. As soon as we start losing, everyone involved in the rebuild will begin to question things, but especially the Blue Chips. The Future is NOW, and I think James Franklin already knows this. I think Franklin is preparing to explode out of the gates, and as he said it....."Shock the World". Nowhere in a 2 year rebuild do the words "Shock the World" really fit, do they. GO HOKIES!!! Coach em up Franklin!!! 10+ wins in 2026 ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 5/28/2026, 1:12:43 PM

Get Ready Hokies....For Franklin to....RUUUN up the scores, and I love it.

NO, he won't leave his starters in. He won't purposely run the score up.....but he WILL let his players play off the bench. And he will empty the bench...the entire bench. And as it should be, it will be up to opposing teams to stop us from scoring for 4 quarters. I personally really like this. (Why waste experience opportunities for your depth) Backups need their chances to see what they can do!!. Knowing how deep and talented some of our positional groups are, I think VT starts hitting high water marks as the Hokie Football Engine comes back alive!! This season will be time to "Take a Swig" for every point over 30! And Get ready to do a LOT of pushups!! The Return of.....The TERROR Dome!! CBS Sports has VT winning 10 Games in 2026.......I Concur......

I'm just surprised that they didn't talk about the other games of the season. I mean, why just talk about those 10 games, and not discuss the other 2 regular season games, the ACC championship, and the potential playoff matchups? Seems to me the CBS analyst did not finish the discussion. If you factor those other matchups, obviously the VT win total for the year will be substantially higher. Hokie football would not be the same this season without love......

And that's why you have to appreciate Love while you have Love, since even Love won't be in Blacksburg forever and once you have lost Love, you will appreciate what Love brought for us all. For now however, Love is in the air! GO HOKIES

NOPE

Whit Babcock was instrumental in advocating for a larger budget for Virginia Tech's athletics department. He emphasized the need for increased funding to compete at the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), stating that the current budget was insufficient for the university's goals. Babcock's efforts led to a proposal for a significant increase in athletic department funding, which was ultimately approved by the Board of Visitors

NOPE

And we are going 12-0....this season! ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 4/23/2026, 7:08:51 PM

Hope this helps. I broke it into sections, so you would not get confused.

The $229 million athletic budget increase at Virginia Tech was initiated by athletic director Whit Babcock, who presented a dire need for more resources to the Board of Visitors (BOV) in August 2025, rather than it being an original initiative of the Board itself. Key Details of the Budget Initiative: The Impetus (Babcock's Move): In August 2025, Babcock presented to the Board, detailing that VT’s athletic funding was 14th out of 18 in the ACC ($122 million annually) and that the department needed to be closer to $200 million annually to compete with top teams. He told the board, "We cannot keep taking pride in doing more with less". The BOV Response: While Babcock provided the impetus, the board took the request seriously and immediately charged members J. Pearson and Ryan McCarthy to lead a task force to build a financial plan. The Result: The Board overwhelmingly approved a $229.2 million, four-year budget increase on September 30, 2025, which, according to the university, was to ensure the school could remain relevant in a "new kind of arms race".

It's great that you can type "NOPE" but you sir, are dead wrong....

Babcock provided the impetus: On August 18, 2025, Whit Babcock gave a 61-minute presentation to the BOV, warning that Virginia Tech was falling behind ACC peers due to a budget and resources "arms race". He named the price: He explicitly stated that if the board wanted the Hokies to perform at the top of the conference, they needed to invest closer to $200 million annually, rather than the baseline $122 million. The BOV took the lead on the plan: Following the presentation, Rector John Rocovich directed board members J. Pearson and Ryan McCarthy to work with campus leadership and Babcock to create the formal financial plan.

Lobbied HARD for more money in 2025 when it mattered most.

And Boom, we land Franklin and BobsYourUncle! No Whit.......No Franklin......No Banana. Simple

Whit Babcock, like him or not, this man did the best he could for VT.

You can't say he did not try, and with what some would say, was working with one hand behind his back (lack of funding) I think he did a great job when you consider the resources. I think his struggle to speak publicly combined with a fanbase frustrated with limited resources caused his popularity to dip, but that is part of the job. I have always felt like Whit would find a way, and I truly think (whether he gets credit or not) the Franklin hire was his Swan Song. Pushing for more money and making sure of the timing of it, and his part of the discussions with Franklin sealed the deal, so at the very least, he gets partial credit for Franklin. Good Job Whit, thanks for your help, and appreciate you looking after things until you retire. Cheers and Go HOkies!!! ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 4/23/2026, 5:09:01 PM

Seems that Hokie tailgating performance has dropped to match team output.

Hokies will have to step up their tailgating this year to the Next Level. I'm talking Kegerators, Deep Fryers, Unicycles, Snake charmers, Night lighting festivals.... Blacksburg becomes Burning Man.

I can confirm through photos for most of these players, that.....

they do indeed have feet. That said, prosthetics technological advances have made it tougher than ever to determine from photos alone.

The Lunch Pail Architect: Bud Foster

I listened closely to the first podcast with Bud Foster. This man seems to have perfected the ability to architect a defense around the limitations and strengths of his players. He was able to quickly measure the limits and strengths of each player and put them into positions to maximize their impact to the team. This included changes in their development, moving players around in the defense, moving players from offense to defense, installing players only in certain coverages, or coaching up players to adjust their play to their strengths. He developed players, he put them into positions to win, and in doing so, he squeezed the most out of the players he had each year to maximize the effectiveness of every VT defense, within the resources that VT football allowed. In doing so, he helped build what became VT football, he set the tone with a blue collar work ethic, he manufactured great Defenses, and he built men. Simply put, Bud Foster is....The Lunch Pail Architect. ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 4/16/2026, 1:15:35 PM

Well, if Hokie football is about to be restored to peak levels....

Then honestly, I'm torn which is my favorite. QBs / Recvrs > YES - every passing play is a possible break out play OLine / Rbs > YES - every running play is a possible run to the house DLine / Dbacks / Lbacks > YES - every defensive play is a possible turnover / explosive play / Sack John Love > YES - need i say more I am curious about two groups, tight ends and special teams. Wondering how much tight ends will factor into passing game, and wondering if our special teams will ever return to dominating form blocking kicks and returning kicks. The best part of Hokie football for me was, there was ALWAYS something big about to happen, regardless of which part of the team was on the field. Hoping Hokie Excitement returns in 2026! GO HOKIES!!!

Shopping for a new President and possibly an athletic director at a time...

When football is becoming nationally relevant and the school is on an upward trend.... Sounds like a win-win situation for Hokie fans. Just shows the potential future impact of VT increasing it's budget and landing Franklin at the time it did. Onward and Upward.... GO HOKIES!!

Possible improvement, every school has a physical portal.....

In order to announce for the portal, you have to physically enter the school's portal, televised of course, to make your announcement. And each Portal has a random number driven Trap Door, where randomly, a person announcing their portal entry, has the possibility of dropping down the trap door, disappearing from the sport. Just a thought. GO HOkies!!

I really appreciate the work our Lady Hokies put in this year.

They beat a team 2 quarters out of 4 and stayed within 10 points on an off day of an Oregon team that........ beat a Maryland team 68-61 recently. The same Maryland team that beat the 16th ranked Kentucky Wildcats 74-66. (Hi Kenny, we see you) That same Kentucky team Beat a 5th ranked LSU and lost by only 4 to a 3rd ranked South Carolina. That is some serious progress for Duffy and company in Year 2. Thank you ladies for a fun season of good basketball!! Onward and Upward! GO HOKIES!!

You see, this is why I'm an advocate for hexadecimal jersey numbers.

Then they can retire Jersey number 8EB4, and there are still plenty of numbers left. Problem solved.....GO HOkies (The whole base 10 thing is so yesterday!) ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 3/18/2026, 11:58:01 AM

An important moment in Hokies women's basketball is upon us.

If you compare the score differentials between Cal and VT over the last 15 games for common opponents, what you find is that Cal and VT come out almost even, with a slight going to VT. Factor in that VT is traveling and that it's an away game, and what we have on Sunday is a dead even matchup. This game is going to come down to Who Wants it More. A true "Burn the Boats" moment for our Hokie Ladies team. I have a feeling coach Duffy is preparing our Hokies for war. This game will provide an idea of what kind of finish they want for the season, and the direction of the program. I hope our California Hokies show up in force! Let's GO.................Hokies!!!

So much for English being the unifying language in America.

I think all of United States Media should filter through a language switch. There are 7,159 languages known to humans currently on planet earth. With the automatic-language-Switcherooo, all movies, tv shows, podcasts, music, and information could systematically switch languages every 15 minutes until each of the 7,159 languages could be heard. That way each significant language can be represented and everyone can be miserable 7,158/7159th of the time not knowing what the hell is being said. However, each language could be used once every 74.6 days. But what language should we start using in the first 15 minute segment of all media outlets nation wide you ask? Why Silbo Gomero would of course be the best language to start with..... {Silbo Gomero} is a, unique, whistled, Spanish, register, used, on, La, Gomera, Island, to, communicate, across, deep, ravines. {It}, acts, as, a, fully, developed, language, representing, vowels, and, consonants, through, varying, pitch, and, continuity, often, carrying, up, to, five, kilometers. Tune in at 12:00am for your news heard in "Silbo Gomero" for 15 minutes..... tweeeet tooot tweeety tweety toot toot. Let's GO........HOKIES!!! ** Edited by jonnyhawk at 2/9/2026, 2:39:44 PM

Speaking of Nastradamas and 2026 predictions..........very interesting.....

"seven-month great war" - most likely talking about VT's upcoming season, starting with spring ball. "great swarm of bees" - PRY's new defense "man of light emerging from turmoil" - Obviously, this has to be coach Franklin! More proof you say, what about the light? The reference to the light is obviously bouncing off of his head right? Even Nastradamas knew about the 2nd coming of Hokie Football....some 500 years ago. Nastra-Freakin-Damas Y'alll !! 10 - I firmly believe in the Franklin Bookend Theory.

Anything that Franklin wants is currently a 10 from me. I will reassess this rating if and when we have our first loss of 2026.
