I enjoy driving to Roanoke Friday afternoon enjoying the fall air, staying in a hotel in Roanoke, having a great breakfast, and driving to B'burg. Walking around campus, visiting the bookstore. Then, there is the walk to the stadium, climbing to our seats, watching and cheering during the game. I have attended the coldest game in stadium, VMI and the second colddest game with Duke. Then there is the ride home, instead of taking the interstate home I like to get off at New Market and take 211 across the mountain, stopping at stands the farmers put up to sell their fruits and veggies. Now that is a successful weekend. Many in my family were Tech alumni. They have since passed away. I am almost 75 years old. Not sure how many more years I can do this.

The team has exceeded my expectations this year. Then again I never begin a season in any sport with expectations. If through thick and thin everyone in Hokie Nation shows her and her teams lots of love, it will be difficult to leave. I suspect Kenny's ambition was written right across his face.

There is a big big difference between Kenny and CMD. Kenny only focused on 7 or so of his players. Many of our players have come along nicely this year after being ignored last year. The year has developed nicely. Sure the loses sting but there have not been that many. My only wish at the moment is that students and fans show up in greater number.
