Latest report Michigan AD Warde Manuel will be fired next.
He knew about the affair and Moore's mental health issues since summer. He was alerted by assistant coaches and donors, they were concerned. Moore was acting very strange and unstable. He was berating assistant coaches. AD chose to ignore it. He fired Moore while alone without HR person, without mental health person, without security present. He waited to fire Moore after all recruits signed. What a Big Mess in the Big House.

They did an investigation and basically couldn't come up with any concrete evidence until a few days ago and he was almost immediately fired once real proof was found.
How Warde handled everything in between was baffling, including that he had a 1 on 1 conversation during the firing and did not have any security personnel or a school therapist or anyone to help him handle the situation. You fire someone, you should know they are not going to take it well and Warde really fumbled the ball on this one. He should go.

when asked by AD during summer. Staff and donors reported it and stated he wasn't stable. So the AD knew about it for a long time. Finally, his mistress recently provided evidence, texts, emails, photos, etc which was what they were looking for. And he followed a bunch of FansOnly adult models and bunch of college girls. This has been going on for awhile.

The dude had an affair. FYI that happens rather often. In this case sounds like he did not wrap tight enough and knocked up the side chick my guess is the side chick told the wife and he lost his crap. Literally

The more I read about this - the more I bet the was a plan in case things went south.
"This was the worst-kept secret," one industry source told CBS Sports, echoing the sentiment of several others who said rumors of Moore's misconduct with a staff member had been rampant well before the termination became official. A high-level Michigan booster told CBS Sports that Moore's conduct had been widely known inside the building. "Everybody in the program has known this the last two seasons," the booster said, adding that Schembechler Hall was "swarming with lawyers" earlier this month.
The late timing of the firing immediately shifted focus to the search and whether Michigan is already moving in a specific direction. "I wonder if this means they're already down the road with somebody and have a plan," one industry source said.
One Power Four athletics director believes that's the case. "I'm going to give Warde (Manuel) credit," the AD said. "I'm going to be shocked if he doesn't have a plan and they haven't already done something."
"If I'm Alabama, I'm sitting down with Kalen DeBoer tonight," one agent said Wednesday evening. "Who's still out there who hasn't re-done it? It's DeBoer."

See my post “Badges of Fraud” that I accidentally posted further down. This one is gonna take down a lot of people who participated. A staffer gets a 55% raise. Takes several participants in a major university to get that done. And it isn’t plausibly merit in a state system IMO.

to name the B1G schools that have avoided massive scandals than to name the many that have not. The B1G makes almost all conferences, even the ACC with UNC, seem like choirboys with the possible exception of the old SWC.

English common law. If it looks like fraud, smells like fraud its probably fraud. Example, say you filed bankruptcy, have some hidden cash (which the Bkrpcy Ct is entitled to have and you're duty bound to give them) and you ask me to take that cash under the table and buy a car for you that you’re gonna drive. Both of us are undertaking a fraud on the BK Court and creditors. The car is the badge you wear.
So, the ‘lady’ gets a 55% pay raise. Hmmm, that smells. It’s the badge. But it requires a fraud not of just the coach' making but participation by several people on the payroll of a major university.
There’s civil fraud (not good) and criminal fraud (real bad). And there’s state fraud statutes and federal fraud statutes. Let the games begin.
This is a deep deep rabbit hole IMO.

Taught by a Federal BK Trustee (third generation from an historic Fed Judge) and >90% kill rate litigator. He knew his ‘stuff.’ Was a really fascinating 2 years of my life. Knew a couple CPA Feebers (FBI). They did good work.

Had a good run. Was accepted as an expert witness in 4 SE Federal jurisdictions and a couple state courts, but, alas, that was 30 years ago (pre ‘90s US Bk Code reformulation). I doubt they’ve digitized the records of my having been admitted before the various courts. Wish I could go back but can’t.

is always there (documents and/or digitized records). And, when it's fraud against the government, there's always multiple copies. Worked a few times with bankruptcy attys and federal trustees. All did good work.

Hit the jackpot in the attic of a closed down GM dealership. Incredible hours, days, weeks and months tracing cash receipts to prove FIFO cash ownership entitling Trustee to recoup ‘fraudulent transfers’ resulting from security imperfection under ‘holders in due course.' Of course, these were benign, unknowing civil frauds. Very gentlemanly frauds. The creditors (banks) really didn’t intend on defrauding.

[UNCheats were sued by basketball athletes for not providing an education during the no doc, no attend class days. Donor swooped in and wrote a 7 figure check to make the suit go away. UNC kept their several national BB trophies. My now distant recollection of days in Research Triangle Park.]
