CBs flying, Tumerian Copeland ATH 3* 88.33 comp sooner than later

3 CBs in favor of Tumerian Copeland, a Fla recruit, one of which was a Florida ‘expert.’ Will be interesting to see where he ultimately lines up. Still has a visit to UGa this weekend but the flurry of CBs argues otherwise. Seats going fast. Class at 24, or have I missed one after taking a nap. ** Edited by V333T at 6/11/2026, 12:37:35 PM

Bryce Young or Bryce Woods?

His 247 comp dropped to 89.95 but he’s still a 4* by them. His ind comp is 88, 3*. Great that 247 does re evaluations. But we always get dropped. Went from #6 to #10 with PSU and 2 others jumping us. And there wasn’t a single change in commits. Now it's back to #9 with Semaj Dozier. Same thing happened with the 2026 Transfer class as I recall. Last I looked a couple months ago it was #23 and now it's #27.

Agree, Freeman has already made an ‘allowance’ by not revoking

the commitment. ND has a really big time LB recruit coming in this weekend I think. Hope Amarri has had enough.

Not worth reading but...

Word of warning. The Mathew Gregory WR (94.96 247 comp) allusion may simply be my delusion. The experts say he won’t show up this weekend and reading his comments on Nebraska and the CB that’s out there. Ordinarily I’d agree. But I’m hanging onto, at least, the thread that he’s a Pa guy that JF offered was 3rd to offer (Sept 27, 2025 before termination) and JF is leaning on him for at least a ‘look see.’ If so and if successful, either of two things could occur; 1) Myles McAfee might be spurred into action or, more remotely, JF, Montel and Peter Bourgue might collectively pull a wabbit…. chances of being right on any of this are remote at best. In either case, no downside and we will know the outcome soon. Either he makes the call in the next couple hours to cancel or simply no shows, or he shows. Let the dominos fall. ** Edited by V333T at 6/10/2026, 11:02:43 AM

Nothing really to go on but people who talked with him after the OV and

since then say “VT is in it.” From what I have read, we remain a credible package. I understand JF will not let money be an issue. Someone might make a ‘walk off’ bid, but, within sanity, we will be on a level playing field.

Bunches of OVs being cancelled at VT and among recruits

as ‘seats’ at VT dwindle. OL is done except for Q’Mari or Nabrotzski (OV this weekend). One edge left to visit probably dependent on Chris Whitehead’s decision (not scheduled). Myles McAfee (WR 4* 90 Comp) cancelled his ND visit and I wouldn’t be surprised if he accelerated his final visit to MD to this weekend perhaps in anticipation of Matthew Gregory (WR 95 comp 4*) visiting VT. Gregory is still unlikely but can Myles can't count on that? Hmmm, Matthew Gregory and Peter Bourque OVing on the same day. Sounds ‘orchestrated’ as 1947 Sunbowl would say. In all I’ve seen more than a half dozen cancels of uncommitted recruits in the last 3 days; APPEARS all the 87s and below except Tyson Washington ATH. [Unsurprisingly, recruiting at UVA seems to be ramping up.] Very few seats and most are in pending for big players like Chris Whitehead or semi big Q’Mari (literally “big" but figuratively not as “big" as Chris). Word of warning. The Mathew Gregory allusion may simply be my delusion. Everyone says he won’t show up this weekend and reading his comments on Nebraska and the CB that’s out there, I’d ordinarily agree. But I’m hanging onto, at least, the thread that he’s a Pa guy that JF offered on Sept 27, 2025 and JF is leaning on him for at least a ‘look see.’ If so and if successful, either of two things could occur; 1) Myles McAfee might be spurred into action or, more remotely, JF, Montel and Peter Bourgue might collectively pull a wabbit…. ** Edited by V333T at 6/10/2026, 6:42:56 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/10/2026, 7:00:58 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/10/2026, 10:50:21 AM

Interesting timing of your comment. Myles McAfee just dumped ND OV

Now down to VT and MD. And Locksley is probably gone after this year. Myles coming around at the same time Matthew Gregory WR 94 comp (heavy lean Nebraska) is visiting. The dominant thought is Gregory will commit in the next day or two and not take the VT visit. But its got to be a variable in Myles thinking.

I noticed that he had not committed. IF he takes the VT visit, maybe

Fontel and JF can pull a wabbit outta da hat. What did On3 say about our chances for Peter Bourgue a week before his commitment? <1%. (Might have been 2 weeks.) And as I mention above, it won’t be just Fontel and JF on him if his OVs this weekend….Peter Bourgue is confirmed as taking his OV this weekend. ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 2:56:38 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 3:17:23 PM

Read elsewhere Irvin’s problem is the LB coach to whom he committed

is gone. Same article, I read there have been 3 LB coaches since he committed and that’s the reason ND has whiffed on every LB this cycle. (I’ve only tracked 2 LB coaches in that time but maybe 3 for all I know.) LB coaches might be the reason, might be the bag. JF will know. ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 2:58:20 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 3:09:16 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 3:10:31 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 3:14:58 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/9/2026, 3:18:25 PM

Amarri Irvin 4* LB surprise OV from the ND perspective

"As far as Irvin’s visit goes, going to Virginia Tech makes it seem like he's simply looking for a different place to eventually play. “ Much more to the story, including Marcus Freemen <> JF. https://slapthesign.com/notre-dame-football-recruiting-am...

He passed on UGa OV!!! Went to cousins graduation.

This weekend he is scheduled for South Carolina and the weekend after Ohio State. LSU just picked up KJ Green (comp 98) and they’ve got a stable already. Ohio State has 3 Edges in this class, a 98, 92 and 90 comps so it might be they’re full up.

Incoming. Junior Saunders commits 4* OL, Va #7, VT rank up to #6?

90 comp, 4*. Will this pump VT to #2 in the ACC over Clemson? ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 6:48:27 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 6:51:12 PM

Speculated ND might drop him because he took an OV while committed

Apparently he visited Michigan State last week. His father was a running back there in the ‘90s. No telling what’s up but there isn’t a downside in taking a fly at a 4* LB. The momentum right now is great…stranger things.

I’ve posed the same question and those in the know indicate

JF is not afraid of over-signing if the talent is there. Would seem there’s a limit at any position but...

Many more hooked but need to be landed

Hooked but not landed: Chris Whitehead EDGE, 5*, 247 98.23 comp (looking better w/ LSU taking KJ Green) Myles McAfee WR, 4* 247 comp 92.29 Junior Saunders OT, 4* 247 comp 90.08 Q’Mari Hudson OL, 4* 247 comp 89.45 (sadly being rumored a Tennessee lean) Larry Moon S, 4* 90.11 247 comp Emerson Lewis CB, 3* 247 comp 88.56 Turmarian Moreland ATH, 3* 247 comp 88.33 Sean Saint Fleur DL, 3* 247 comp 87.5 Circling the bait after OVing this weekend: Amarri Irvin LB, 4* 247 comp 90.9- surprise ND commit that OV’s this weekend Noah Renes LB, 4* 247 comp 86.5 - UVa claims they’ll get him on his June 16 OV On deck for June 12 OV: Matthew Gregory WR, 4* 247 comp 94.96 (if he doesn’t take Nebraska this weekend) James Branch WR, 3* 247 comp 87.67 (if he doesn’t take Auburn and if there’s a VT WR seat) Kyle Nabrotzky OT, 3* 247 comp 87.50 (if doesn’t take UCLA and if there’s a VT OT seat) I can’t see how the 2027 recruit class will be smaller than 30. JMHO ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 4:49:55 PM

1 ahead of Ped State U and 55 ahead of UVa, 1 more commit and VT is #6

Presently # 7 nationally and #3 in the ACC. But add 1 more commit at 88.5 and we jump Clemson. VT's ave player rank is slightly better than theirs and out rank us only because they have 1 more commit than VT. ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 3:33:32 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 3:47:46 PM

Cam Wade committed, WR #8 in Virginia, 247 4*, 247 comp 89.88

Hadn’t been hearing much about him, no CBs. Had visits set up for FSU and MD but I’d expect he won’t take them. Incredible offer list. Still another in the wings, presumably, today. Wondering if he feared Myles McAfee taking the final WR slot. Since Wade is spurning Md and Locksley, would that incline Myles to do the same? ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:28:39 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:32:10 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:34:09 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:39:42 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:50:13 PM

Partly out of the closet, On3 Chad Simmons CB for Bryce Woods

There are quite a few wood permutations when you have Woodberry Forrest et al. But On3 seems to have outed Bryce Woods who hails from Woodward Academy. Double Woody. Heard the unpublished opinion telegraphed by 3 others who respect a kids right to do the announcement his own way. It seems like Bryce Woods will be the first to drop, hopefully, today. Yesterday On3 statistical model had OSU at 50%, Ole Miss at 10%, Auburn at 9% and VT at 1%. Several others, so I’ve heard, will occur in the next week. On3 link attached. As an aside, VT is #9 behind UCLA and PSU. VT has the higher ave player ranking, but has only 19 recruits to their 20 recruits each. With Bryce at 90 comp, consensus 4*, that would increase our average AND give us the same # commits…. All else the same, VT becomes #7 and one slot higher than…..wait for it….PSU. ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:09:59 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:22:00 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 1:23:03 PM

Unfortunately, a lot of permutations of the intentionally misspelled ‘wood'

in this class. Could fit several recruits. Probably better not expound further because my (and a couple others’) reading of the tea leaves is hardly dispositive.

VT was slow to catch onto the strength of the portal and had little NIL.

UVa got a big donation just prior to the 2025 transfer class and with TE unable to recruit HS he hadn’t any choice but to portal big. And it worked out extremely well for UVa. But TE is reverting to the mean and had a 2026 transfer class that was not great (#37 after 247 pumped up their ratings) and became worse when the 4th highest rated transfer, Zion Wilson, didn’t get a 6th year (of course 247 hasn’t reflected that). Now he’s totally reverted to the mean, VT might get as many commits out of this weekend as there were uncommitted recruits at UVa’s OV weekend (only 5 uncommitted recruits with at least 1 CB elsewhere).

Very happy. Under the radar, unexpected but an excellent talent.

If it is who I think it is it wood be a surprise for most. Hint Hint 2. Plural ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 6:19:24 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 6:20:33 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 6:21:44 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/7/2026, 9:45:15 AM

I’d ‘heard’ that. It only makes sense not to cause problems with the rest

of your team. It is inevitable that a PB and a couple others will get outrageous bags for a college freshman, but some kids can handle it but other kids, I expect, will have prima donna visions. I think of Bryan Randle talking about driving his old Chevy Nova (don’t remember what model it was) while Marcus Vick had a new Cadillac (courtesy of brother Michael) on campus. And we know how that turned out. I hope they’re both doing well (although I hear about Marcus from time to time).

He committed to ND Nov 2025 before JF was hired BUT

the link APPEARS to be Coach Chaos who likely was trying to get him to A&M before he was hired at VT. If Irving wanted the bag, he’d have taken the A&M visit…JMHO. No bigger bags, so I hear. I’m sure JF has the coin, but when you pay someone outrageously you’re apt to make other players proportionately outraged. JF had excellent retention at PSU as I recall and many of his better players and recruits followed him to VT. I think he values loyalty and commitment and if Irving is playing the bag game…well, I think JF or I trust JF will sniff it out.

Snowballing, the train is leaving the station

Dynamic people, recruits and otherwise, want to be associated with dynamic situations.

Surprise, Notre Dame 4* LB commit visiting this weekend

Amarri Irvin, LB 4*. I understand a semi triple flip; 1) committed to ND but 2) decided to take a visit to A&M this weekend but 3) is visiting VT this weekend instead. On ND boards the word was (among non insiders) if he visited A&M no soup for you. Before num nuts claim he’s shopping a bigger bag, 1) I am informed by informed Cav-nuts VT is broke and 2) would he drop a visit to the bagger of bags, A&M, if that were his motivation? Hmmm, where was Coach Chaos four months ago? ** Edited by V333T at 6/6/2026, 9:38:48 AM

And it got worse yesterday, Chuck Roberts S high 3* flips to MD

Yesterday UNC got Shavezz Dixon OL 87 3*, which the floundering UVa recruit class needed in the worst way. BUT, UNC’s already less than stellar recruiting class gave up Chuck Roberts to also sub par Maryland recruiting class. In all, that ‘kiting' move among less than stellar programs raised Maryland to the 46th ranked 2027 class while UNC drops to 64th and behind UVa at 57th. I only hope the beggars steal among themselves and leave Myles McAfee to VT (MD is the competition and Myles is from MD and is close to Malik Washington QB). Belichek and Locksley were wonder recruiters only a year ago, how far they have fallen. TE is still TE.

It really was impressive. Would’ve been a good one for UVa, alas

At least they didn’t take a fly on Pavia this year. Oh forgot, they were counting on Chandler until Chandler was no more. Then they got a QB that JF had counseled out (at PSU) and then passed on (at VT).

Rumor, another big donation in the works.

$20M. Not the same donors as previous two large donations ($20M and $75M). The rumor did not have a time horizon. Looks like Hokie Ventures will be well funded.

I hear there might be another. Makes it tough when you can only get 1 year

from a transfer. But they only got 1 spring game scrimmage out of Zion. UVa had 55 seniors on their roster last year and, of course, several still had a redshirt year. I joked TE would need to recruit from the stands to field a full roster this year. Nevertheless, it would seem hard to gel a team out in that ‘herding cats’ type of environment. ** Edited by V333T at 6/5/2026, 5:50:44 AM

UVa transfer strategery just took a hit, transfer Zion Wilson jumps to pros

Never suited a game for UVa. Brilliant 2026 transfer class ranked 37th (after a bump up from the 40s) lost its 6th highest transfer member, Zion Wilson. Strategy; pay the big money to experienced men instead of children…. even if they don’t have any eligibility left. Zion was a comp 88 which which had elevated the average per player to a laudable 86.21. He gets a raise but foregoes the honor of suiting up in the revered orange and blue; certainly never have a plume in his cap. The raise was big; $25k signing bonus and $225K in guaranteed money. As I’ve read elsewhere, its just another player UVa put into the league. Errr, except that the only snaps he had were in the spring game. Ouch, that’s gotta hurt. [For our learned UVa viewers and others in Rio Lindo, ’strategery’ was intentionally spelled as such.] ** Edited by V333T at 6/4/2026, 5:33:28 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/4/2026, 5:36:35 PM ** Edited by V333T at 6/4/2026, 5:39:34 PM

What’s the chances the promoter, AD, has $3M to pay UVa/NCSU?

The way a promoter does it is set up an LLC or corp with minimum assets just in case you need to ditch a deal. Just walk away. If UVa was so careless NOT to sign or keep the contract, what’s the chances they’d require a standby arrangement to guarantee performance? Time will tell. ** Edited by V333T at 6/4/2026, 5:34:01 AM

Can’t make this up, NCSU gets $1.5M for cancelled Brazil, UVa gets...

well, we don’t know. 247 moderator says…well, you read it: "Note: As you saw from Cory over at Pack Power, NC State's contract stated there is a 1.5 million dollar buyout if Athlete Advantage canceled the game. As I've mentioned before, I have been talking to UVA's FOIA office for a few months. Right now, they have no record or at least have not found the record of a signed contract, so I can't tell you what it says on Virginia's side of things. This is certainly something to watch." https://247sports.com/college/virginia/board/16/contents/...

More jet lag. MG cancelled LSU this weekend and will be at Nebraska

VT will be June 12 but the linked article INFERS his closeness with Nebraska. Of course, he may have cancelled LSU because they’re full up at WR. Article is about 3 articles down the page.

So sorry, was thinking one thing and typing something else.

Thanks again for correcting my egregious brain misfire. He doesn’t even show an LSU visit/connection. I corrected my bad post so others are not as confused as myself.

Just confirmed, Gregory is at LSU this weekend, VT on the 12th not the 5th

The list I presented, long as it was, were just the June 5 OVs, not the 12th or the 19th. And it did not include any scheduled OVs that had committed at VT or elsewhere. ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 2:19:36 PM

Thank you. I think he’s June 12? He’s a good one too. 4* 95 24comp Link

I had him for June 12 but OVs are being swapped around. He’s a Pa guy so he was probably recruited by JF and PSU beginning at birth. His OV list with VT, UCLA and Nebraska suggests his trips would be a lot shorter to VT. ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 10:36:49 AM

Lot’s of committed or committed elsewhere. It will be interesting to see

which, if any, committed elsewhere recruits show up. I did not any of the already committed, VT or otherwise, in the above list. ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 9:55:58 AM

On LBs, not comforting but last year was good. On WRs, I think the best is

yet to come even though Chanin Harris has cancelled his visit. We have Demarcus Brown (#6 in Va when he committed to UVa, now #7 and 247 4*) and Anthony Roberts (89.9 3*) committed. All eyes are on Myles McAfee (consensus 4*) who visited last weekend. LBs, I read, are a tough spot to fill as are OL. Moore’s seeming to have licked the OL challenge. Our current LB room has some experience and hopefully Wiggins and Lamar (2026 PSU flips) can provide some support early. Gotta defer to JF and BP; only they know whether we are in need there or whether there’s a problem in recruiting LBs. BP has been known to successfully grow a safety into a LB position. All this is stuff I’ve read. I’m only a well read wannabe as the plethora of welcomed corrections attests. ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 10:06:30 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 10:11:11 AM

Still VERY fertile ground this weekend

Ignoring the OV recruits that are committed elsewhere, here are remaining recruits that are scheduled to visit: Bryce Woods S, 91 comp 247 rating, consensus 4* Junior Saunders OT, 90 247 rating, consensus 4*, #7 recruit in Va Cam Wade WR, 89.9 247 rating, 4* on 247, #8 recruit in Va Arnold Mugerwa WR, 89 247 rating, 3* Peyton Bishop EDGE, 88.5 247 rating, 3* Semaj Dozier ATH, 88.5 247 rating, 3* Jaxon Holly EDGE, 88, 3* Akedran Crumel CB, 88, 3* Sean Saint Fleur DL, 87.5 247 rating, 3* Noah Renes LB, 86, 3* Plenty of opportunity. ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 7:52:28 AM ** Edited by V333T at 6/3/2026, 7:54:43 AM

Belichick’s shininess seems to have worn off

Had the ACC’s #2 recruiting class in 2025 and now its even lower than UVa in 2027. UVa is at #15 and UNC is at #16. Down memory lane, UNC’s 2026 class had some top notch recruits like….err….Bryce Baker comes to mind.
