Can’t make this up, NCSU gets $1.5M for cancelled Brazil, UVa gets...
well, we don’t know. 247 moderator says…well, you read it: "Note: As you saw from Cory over at Pack Power, NC State's contract stated there is a 1.5 million dollar buyout if Athlete Advantage canceled the game. As I've mentioned before, I have been talking to UVA's FOIA office for a few months. Right now, they have no record or at least have not found the record of a signed contract, so I can't tell you what it says on Virginia's side of things. This is certainly something to watch." https://247sports.com/college/virginia/board/16/contents/...

UVA never signed the contract.

That would be tragic for a University boasting a major law school.

That's hard to believe...don't they know any god attorney's. How do you
promote a trip to a foreign country for a football game without a signed contract. That can't be correct.

Hoos are stalling.
They’ve got it. If they didn’t have a signed contract they wouldn’t be selling travel plans for the game.

They got it but never signed it.

That is an expensive.......
missing signature, if true.

That’s the rumor.
If they didn’t sign then they don’t get the cancellation fee. And since the game is now a freebie to season ticket purchasers it might be an interesting financial loss.

The game was set for Cville before the move to BZ.

Yep.
But they actively promoted the game until they didn’t.

What’s the chances the promoter, AD, has $3M to pay UVa/NCSU?
The way a promoter does it is set up an LLC or corp with minimum assets just in case you need to ditch a deal. Just walk away. If UVa was so careless NOT to sign or keep the contract, what’s the chances they’d require a standby arrangement to guarantee performance? Time will tell. ** Edited by V333T at 6/4/2026, 5:34:01 AM

None of this makes sense to me. Im betting everyone expected this to
never happen. It was all speculative, with a blow up date at the beginning of June unless miraculously a bunch of hurdles had been cleared. I cant believe uva and ncsu spent much non refundable money on flights hotels other arrangements . This thing just never passed the sniff test . I wonder how many fans actually made arrangements though based on this sham....and what happens to their money. That sounds like a potential mess.

UVA never chartered any flights, etc. They had concerns and delayed signing
