How often did Beamer get pressed on retaining underperforming assts? How
often has Whit been pressed on any number of things, but, to name a few....
-hiring a first time head FB coach with first time coordinators
-borderline sabotage of last year's MBB season
-the deal with the girls' soccer coach and the player, for which the school paid a settlement
-any kind of follow-up whatsoever on the 2023 ESPN expose about how the AD, particularly Ballein, kneecapped Fuente
That's four off the top of my head. Press doing their jobs and aggressively demanding explanations would have allowed the more passive members of the community to know what was going on, and we would have been done with Whit and the whole Ballein family years ago. Instead, programs stagnated and millions more went to the Babcock and Ballein families.
Yes, I know the excuse is always that bulldog media get blacklisted. Well, you either get to claim that you're doing something worthwhile or you don't đ¤ˇđģââī¸

I disagree. I think the press covering Tech is far too passive. I wish
they would go after the employees in Blacksburg more aggressively.

Trash. How does a school that likes to fancy themselves a "public Ivy" let
in people like this guy and Christopher Jones? At least this (alleged) rapist was a good player, and you know that he got admitted under athlete (i.e. lower) standards. Jones didn't even warrant a scholarship, so you know he wasn't good. How'd he get in?
UVA keeps stepping on their own dick.

Sure, yeah, but doesn't change anything about Shrewsberry. GT hired their
fella with a losing record overall and only one winning season (at Pacific! đ).
"We've been watching you stink it up at the lower levels. We think you're due for a promotion!"

I blame last night's loss on our student athletes caring more about
academics than Stanford's. Also, I don't care that UVA beat us in football because football is a sport for brutes and poors.
Did I do a UVA impersonation correctly?

Who cares if the players (now employees) like it? It's an attack on the
senses. Most fans at the home games drive further to be there than if they'd gone to the closest NFL or NBA stadium - they're driving extra for the collegiate environment.

Seems like we might be worse than most. Shouldn't we aspire to be better
anyway. Really get the impression that the state employees running that side of things are pushing an agenda. Many such cases!

Ban the piped in music - dawned on me midway that the Rose Bowl had none.
Such a more pleasant experience, even on TV. Have to imagine the positive difference was more significant for those lucky enough to attend.

Ohio State over Miami is obvious from a likeability perspective. Could go
either way on Alabama/Indiana.

It's not 2010 anymore. Don't wait on legacy media to confirm something. They're frequently mistaken or just lying anyway.

Yes, but when we (allegedly) gave the SEC a "thanks but no thanks" to stay
in the ACC, we sealed our fate. Now, we're in a conference that takes the schools in other parts of the country that no one wants, can't decide if it cares about football, and can't decide if it's for big state schools or small private schools.
It's just a mess. We should have left when we had the chance, and I thought that both at the time and moreso now.

Tony Elliott to Michigan? Why? đ
Down at the end of names linked to the job. Michigan should be able to do better than him (or Moore). They need to make it less obvious what they're doing.

They're still working on contract terms with Sherrone Moore - expected to
help bring a lot of Michigan recruits.

Apparently Sherrone Moore was messaging OnlyFans girls during halftime of
the Ohio State game đ
Maybe our crappy cell service at the stadium has benefits for keeping the coaches' heads (the right heads) in the game. đ¤ˇđģââī¸

Michigan did what Michigan was going to do. Hopefully, they'll now pay the
price. I remember seeing him get interviewed after that game and wondering how, Michigan, of all schools (they're financially loaded) couldn't get a better coach/someone better put together mentally than him. Then I realized they had some other motives at work.

Supposedly her dad was the one who raised the issue with the AD (though it
sounds like he already knew). Someone from the outside bringing the issue to him forced him to take action he may have wanted to avoid.

Will be interesting to see what comes out about the Michigan cheating
scandal now that Moore has been fired. Presumably most of the staff will turn over, too, unlike when Harbaugh left and Moore slid into the role.
A lot of people with a financial incentive to keep their mouths shut no longer have that incentive. Heck, we know Moore deleted a bunch of texts to try to cover it up.
