HAck and squirt method is not very efficient

I have tried it and there always seems to be a section that lives. Now I run the chainsaw all the way around about 2 inches deep and add straight Roundup brushkill. Or, cut them down and paint the stump with brushkill.

I defend them under their Errors and Omissions insurance policies in Va

Most of them have a clause in their contract that limits damages for missed stuff to the cost of the inspection. It holds up in court. The buyer’s attorneys are not amused. That said, there are good ones and not good ones. Things they have missed in my cases: Severe and obvious termite damage in open crawl space Water service provided by a spring and pump system to a big cistern. Only problem was spring dried up. Huge settlement crack Way overloaded breaker box Ongoing water intrusion due to clogged gutters Ongoing water damage in basement covered up by sofa in weird spot. Zero flashing around fireplace. Electrical plugs on new porch with no wires at all. Vent hood with no exhaust pipe. The BS that bad contractors do never ceases to amaze me. ** Edited by Spudnut at 7/22/2026, 9:27:23 PM

Which is why I drive a 2015 Lexus GX 460

Bought it with 90,000 miles. Now has 155,000. Zero repairs. Just maintenance. Of the 65,000 miles, 40,000 have been reimbursed at an average of $0.65 or $42,250. I paid $22,500 for the vehicle. Even with gas, tires, oil changes, I’m way positive. My first marriage ended because I couldn’t earn enough to keep up with my wife’s spending. Among other reasons. Since then I’ve paid off $48,000 in credit card debt, college tuition for 2 kids, and currently have a net worth around $1.5 million. My amazing wife has done the same, so we are around $3 million combined. With 5 more years of earning until retirement. Sheesh.

Overflow definitely not the issue

Is that something that can be read on the OMD II port? I don’t have a hookup but will buy one. 2015 Lexus GX 460.

Gearheads. Need advice re overheating issue

Was driving to lunch. Looked at gauge after 10 minutes and firmly in the red. Cut off AC, put in neutral, and coasted at 45 mph down a hill. Returned to normal. Back on drive, accelerated uphill and temp spiked again. Back in neutral for a bit of a coast and back to normal. Made it to lunch with no issues. On way home, started to spike again at 45 mph. Then returned to normal. Engaged AC for rest of drive and no issues. Got home and popped hood. Reservoir low but not empty. Filled it. Ran on idle for 15 minutes when, no issues. Drove it back and forth to late nine holes with the wife - 10 minutes each way with AC on, 3 minute wait at stop light, temp gauge at normal both ways. Thoughts???

There was a sketchy gas station/repair shop in Roanoke just within bicycle

Range when I was a kid. They sold a pack of 25 STP stickers for $1.00. We had them stuck on everything. Much to my parents’ dismay.

Anyone here a fan of the podcast The Rest is History???

British friend turned me on to it. The narrators are very good. They research various historical topics and do multi part series on each. They go into the backgrounds of the characters before moving into the main topics So far I’ve completed: The Rise of the Ayatollah in Iran Hannibal and his March over the Alps and Battles With the Romans The Romans Reversal and Defeat of Carthage Jack the Ripper The Rolling Stones Custer and Little Big Horn (my favorite) The Romans Conquest of Britain And a few more. They are very entertaining. And hopefully accurate. Which I think they are.

After the war, to regain citizenship, he had to lay down his arms and kneel before a Union Major on the steps of the Orange County, Va courthouse steps. He refused. So he died not being a US citizen. Took a mini ball to the eye and the foot. ** Edited by Spudnut at 5/28/2026, 9:44:55 PM
