many videos where major stars say Larry Bird was the best at the game

and talking trash. On the trash side, he always immediately backed it up. Really funny videos out there IMHO.

can you confirm what you mean by private person ...

I am hoping you are not considering flying the drone over your private parts and uploading pictures here. I thought it was illegal to fly a drone even over a neighborhood's house. Is that true? ** Edited by VaTechie at 6/26/2026, 9:04:59 PM

that is interesting, I had him in my remedial English class

It was like his third time taking it. The English teacher was not happy about him still able to play football since he had failed him. The guy was nice as hell, but he was behind on his English. If he is a teacher, then it looks like he was able to overcome it all eventually.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

It is a good thing he went straight to the pros from HS

We would never hear the end of why he picked Louisville over us like Seth Curry.

I give you credit for using your VT statistics degree for us.

Whoa Nelly, Holy Cow Batman. I will drink a few beers tonight to digest your posts.

yeah, a year later after that hit, I think in WVU\Pitt game ...

The punt return had two devasting hits on the same return. VT hit was all over ESPN, then came those two hits on the same play. Best 3 hits on a punt returns I have ever seen.

wait till you experience the pain

The surgery is one the worse painful surgeries and the recovery is very painful for months. The pain is still better than having a failed hip because it hurts like hell even if you are sitting.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

My wife just got a hip replacement

I should of done it with my saw saw in my dirty filthy garage and maybe she would not of ended up with an infection.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

I ate wild elk once. It was like trying to eat a deflated leather football.

My sister married into a family where they fill the freezer with all kinds of game and elk is put into it yearly. I would never eat wild elk again.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

That would make my dead dad rise again

He had eight kids, and got mom pregnant 11 times (3 miscarriages). He was born on June 14. His grave is 3 miles from my house, so I went to visit him, my mom, and my brother, and Aunt whose graves are beside each other.

Hopewell results look correct, surprised Warrenton did not show much

I was expecting these to show: O'Brien's Irish Pub and Restaurant Molley's Irish Pub This one too, but the other two first RedZone Bar & Grill

The Lounge 1 mo ago

I have no idea why it does not work for me

I type in Warrenton VA and Hopewell, VA the results are for Blacksburg, VA. I say use my current location and it comes back to Blacksburg, VA when I am sitting hours away. Okay, now I see what is wrong. Those do not show up in the list. I am not sure how you would hook it up to the Postal Service zip code database to get valid locations etc. ** Edited by VaTechie at 6/13/2026, 9:13:44 PM

HIs numbers were down last year, but still 4th seems low IMHO

75% completion last year where he was 88.7 and 91.2 the previous years.

That article says his parents and he took their time to make a decision

I cannot argue against his final decision or the process he went through with his Mom. I wish him the best.

dang, I tried to add a little humor knowing it was going political

I think you are right on my humor should still get a ding. Rulz is do not make any response in a thread that is going political or already political. Good tough love for me and I should know better.

Well, I would not say I was in the position to retire

I would be paying most of my income to have someone stay with my wife and it would be hard to find someone. IT is not a 8 to 5 job, it is an 8 to when I get home which in the past could be after midnight. I have given up most of my dreams, but am trying to get things in order to move to a waterfront home in Northern Neck in the next few years. At least, I got my butt out of Northern Virginia to a horse farm outside of Richmond which is going up in price. I just need to put 50k into it to get the best price and it will sell quickly.

I can only speak for my IT career ....

I was a jack of all trades and called a Solution Architect. I did business development, light programming, system installs, ran multiple small teams etc.. The saying was go to VaTechie he knows the answer. VaTechie did not know the answer, but he could figure it out quickly where it was network, database, application server etc. My last corporate job I had 3 customers and worked on 7 systems each week and it was brutal. One customer I was commuting 6 hours a day 3 days a week. I worked at home the other two days a week. I basically did most of the work to secure 6 million dollars worth of new business. I went to management multiple times about it was causing me health problems. Finally, two doctors told me I had to find a new job. I went home, resigned immediately with no job, and started my IT consulting business again. My last day was a Friday and I was under contract to the same company for 4 years working at home for one customer that I got the 6 million dollars worth of business. That work dried up and I started looking again in my mid fifties after getting my AWS solutions architecture certification. I got some bites but it was really hard. My wife got really, really sick so I just retired way, way earlier than I wanted. In the end, I am glad. I was burned out on IT.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

My farts will worked like a power washer on that problem

You buy Taco Bell and a case of beer and I might come down to give it a try.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

you better find one quick, you hit 50 years old

Your time to be a new hire is running out. Mid fifties it is over. I was in IT, saw that for decades, and was always ahead of the learning curve.

Outer banks wave almost paralyze me

I misjudge the wave on a body board and it brought my head straight down into the sand. I thought for sure I was paralyze and just try to get my head out of the water so I did not drown. It was a real stinger and I got up out of the water. My girlfriend said WTF were you thinking. First day on the beach, and I had a sprained neck the rest of the vacation.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

nope, just friends from my freshman dorm who all became friends

we did a few with moonshine on Miles Dorm. Other parties were during my summer session where I was partying with some crazy girls and we made a few batches over the summer.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

Trash can+fruit Juice+Everclear+apples+peaches+strawberries with a long

fruit soak was money. You just smoked a ton of weed while you stirred the long soak. I did not hear anything ugly at the party, but heard about a few uglies once people got home or in the early morning.

The Lounge 1 mo ago

Mmmm.... moonshine Reminds me of college. Miles dorm parties

and moved to the Blue House for a few years. Love me some moonshine peaches and cherries. Got the real Franklin county stuff.

Instead of backing up all my photos to the cloud, I prefer to

back them up to all my 2mb floppies I have laying around. Some photos are too large, so I just delete them. ** Edited by VaTechie at 6/3/2026, 10:05:54 PM

My sister who is in family practitioner and a partner says

Medical fields should require a few business classes. She has 30+ years practicing medicine.

The Lounge 2 mo ago

She is allowed to work my 5 speed stick shift in all 5 gears hot.

Hoping she starts in low and shifts up to 4 or 5. I do not mind if she skips third gear, but that is up to her.

I was at that game, it was not as cold to me as it was ...

My brother and I both had a fifth of Jim beam each to dispose of. Dad, a Notre Dame grad, could not believe we stayed the whole game.

Ouch, so wrong. TE is focused on the portal, recruiting does not matter

I guess we will find out wHOOse strategy works. I rather have what VT is doing right now until proven otherwise.

I am glad someone is researching this merger and data center costs.

A simple Google of: are data centers paying a higher rate for electricity In Virginia There are other things that are changing in regards to residential rates vs Data Centers. Data Centers are here to stay in Virginia and expanding to other counties because these counties see Loudoun getting 1 billion plus in tax revenue vs doubling property taxes to get the same revenue base. Now with that, I do have concerns on the H20 consumption of Data Centers.

I will take a 5-7 season where we play well, see an O and D identity

Add Penn State going 0-12 would be icing on the cake. This is my feelings with a pinch of sarcasm. ** Edited by VaTechie at 5/19/2026, 9:34:14 PM ** Edited by VaTechie at 5/19/2026, 9:34:44 PM

flew down for a wedding in 1986 with Hurricane Charley off the coast

for a wedding. My friends rented a large house on Isle of Palms. Instead of a rehearsal dinner the bride and groom said we pay for the party at your beach house because it was going to go on all night and that is where VaTechie and his brother are which means it has 100 percent probability to get very, very wild. I think there were like 10 of us in the house. Crabs and oysters along with all types of other food. 10 second, 20 second keg hits were rocking. The groom's brother wanted to do one, but his dad said no you do not. When Dad was not looking, we let the young 18, 19 year old do it. Unfortuately,, he puked on the side as his house and Dad caught him. Dad not happy, but the party went on when two kegs were gone and we got 6 more cases. Dad was a conservative diplomat that was well traveled. Really cool place and know it has grown since then. My niece has lived down there for 10+years and loves it. She has a very nice boat. ** Edited by VaTechie at 5/13/2026, 9:40:58 PM

I like to call this cremation by airplane engine.

We definitely know where he was spread. I know, too early. Suicide is real no matter who it is. Why would someone pick a plane to accomplish his irrational thoughts? I know several people over my lifetime that have had successful suicides and have siblings who friends have done the same. The strange thing I see is everyone talking about how hard it will be to increase security and could be expensive. IMHO, this security needs to solved ASAP before some terrorist slaps on a suicide vest, jumps the fence, and goes after a plane. ** Edited by VaTechie at 5/12/2026, 11:00:13 PM

I trim my cat all the time myself

When he sheds they get clumpy, so I try to get him before that. If it clumps, I trim him. He got bad 8 years ago, and I paid 100 bucks for a bath and trim. Now, my wife and I spend 70 bucks on Makers Mark and do it ourselves.

left him after citizenship. They luv some old men till they don't.

Mr Fooz probably was responsible for a ton of those sales

We drank a ton of PBR. If in ice cold water in a cooler, they are damn good.
