likely get it. Dominion is run by VERY smart people who wouldn't attempt this unless they were pretty sure it would fly (but, you never know).

These types of mergers never bring lower prices for consumers.

is popping. They are doing what Dominion needed to do basically forcing the data center providers build their own power, which has been the direction this was heading for a while. in the long run this could be good. i guess time will tell. to help the peasants out thee deal sets aside 1.778 billion for credits 2 years post merge so about 700 per household.

A simple Google of: are data centers paying a higher rate for electricity In Virginia
There are other things that are changing in regards to residential rates vs Data Centers.
Data Centers are here to stay in Virginia and expanding to other counties because these counties see Loudoun getting 1 billion plus in tax revenue vs doubling property taxes to get the same revenue base.
Now with that, I do have concerns on the H20 consumption of Data Centers.

Hold on to your hats! Virginia and NC used to have very low electricity costs compared to our NE neighbors. Thanks to data centers more than anything else (infrastructure buildout to supply the HUGE electricity needs), the rates have gone up quite a bit in a HURRY.....This is just the beginning!

...and solar. That's giving us a nice bump in prices.
VA should require new nuclear plants be built to handle data center requirements + 50%.

all those years was the great "mix" of fuels. We had it all, Coal, Nuclear, Hyro and even small Gas peaking plants! The "climate initiative" we have signed back on to, added into this merger of giants, will spike our rates in the near future.
If anyone is buying the "economies of scale" will provide a affordable electric rates for customers BS, I still have SOME swap land left...but it's going fast! Now, I WOULD load up on their stock, as they have managed their costs well over the years. This BEFORE this new era of "raise the rates until it hurts"

...before we get an "exit tax" shoved down our throats similar to what other states have started to do when policies/costs drive people away...

justify it. I'm watching Animal Kingdom now. It's fairly entertaining. B+ range.
