Apparently will be a key player for the Bearcats if he can play.

transfer hours being accepted- He's probably not going to be able to do anything very specific or structured that would require an internship- unless they just have it signed off on as completed.... like the Hospitality major athletes.... but he will be able to get something

If you cant cobble together enough credits in 5 years to get a degree then youre actively not trying to do so
He is currently more wealthy than 90% of this message board, so I dont think we need to wonder about whether or not he can have resources to finish school should he need to do so

struggled to graduate in 4 years due to being forced to take the minimum amount of credit hours during the season. They were on a quarter system instead of semester basis they currently are. And I’m not talking about academic deficient student/ athletes either. It was just a given for alot of them ( depending on major) that it would take 4+ years to graduate, or some really heavy class loads during their off season, and or summer school. Now I see these kids go to 2 different schools in 2 years and in 2.5 years have graduated and are working on a post graduate degree. Also if you transferred in those days there was always in danger of credits from one school to another not being accepted by the new school. None of those things seem to be a factor anymore. When was the last time you heard of an athlete “ flunking out” of school ? That too was a legitimate concern then. It makes one wonder, is it some serious grade inflation, are these people graduating with devalued degrees or heaven forbid are athletes just being given an easier path to a diploma? Although this seems to be prevalent across entire student population. Wasn’t aware that us poverty stricken message board posters were required to fill out a financial statement must less granting you access to that data. Smells of a privacy act violation.

In helping players graduate and graduate quickly
Players who have graduated are essentially full time athletes. So utilizing summer school sessions allows them to become full time athletes quicker as well as reduce their class burden during the school year

These days athletes stay for both summer sessions.
And the true freshmen mostly enroll early, so they get January plus two summer sessions before their first season even begins, so they get a massive head start. Because of that, it's quite easy these days to take the minimum 12 hours during the fall and still be on time, or even ahead.
Personal example...I enrolled with 18 hours of dual enrollment from high school before I ever attended a class my first fall semester. I was a sophomore after my first semester. That's similar to football players in this era. These days, football players are often at 18 hours, or even more, before their first fall semester begins. I actually had to slow down and take just 12 hours per semester for the rest of my college career to make sure I didn't graduate early.
As far as what credits transfer and all of that, I suppose it varies, but because they enroll early and take classes during both summer sessions, they have a lot more leeway than they did in the past.

Over 4-5 years!
He may very well be okay but making $100k-$125k per year isn’t exactly a lot of money. Certainly doesn’t mean someone will be okay moving forward.

Seems to suggest that $500k sets him up. It doesn’t.
I wish nothing but the best for MJ and hope he is successful in basketball or whatever else he pursues in life. But to suggest $500k means he’ll be okay is silly.

I know you have a hard on to try and catch me in a "gotcha" but it gives you blinders for the actual context here
Hes made more than enough money without expenses to be more than fine working literally any job he gets going forward. He will not need a USPS job because he transferred schools.
Framing this in any other way is dumb.

It’s just a discussion. I made no claims about working at USPS. I just don’t think $500k is very much money. It doesn’t mean a person is set for life. They will still need to make good decisions moving forward. It doesn’t guarantee someone will be okay or not be okay.
Maybe $500k is a lot to you. But in today’s world, it really isn’t. So I just don’t think point to that amount of money to suggest someone is set is naive or shows financial ignorance — or just very different ideas of what amount of money is needed to ensure financial stability and security in the future.
But again, no need to talk like a weirdo.

The person I responded to said he would need a job at USPS. I replied to show he made more than enough money to not need to go that route. Full compensation, he has made more money in 5 years than what it would take the average USPS worker 15 years to do.
You (oblivious to any other context as to solely focus on my post) attributed a lifetime calculation to something where no one made any claim
Its weird to continually respond to my posts and attribute things with your blinders on, so when you continue to do weird things you get talked to like a weirdo

a good headstart on the rest of his life, whatever path he chooses, and he used the system instead of letting the system use him. Good luck to him and best wishes that he uses his stake wisely. Hopefully with new leadership in the VTAD and VTBB will learn to better play the game as it now exists and not be a perennial farm team picked over by other programs.
