Posting History (450)

The Lounge 3 mo ago

Yep. I paid $100 to get on the wait list.

And after waiting a year, I tried the 5G tower from TMobile (I’m only 1 mile from I81 but no fiber available). The towers are great and $50/mo. I added a second one and put all the TV, gaming and printer on one tower and cell phones on another. As soon as I added the towers, I got off the wait list for Starlink. I turned it down and lost to my $100 but I heard it was pretty good. It’s a life changing service for many in rural areas where fiber is not going to happen anytime soon, maybe ever. ** Edited by st_andrew at 4/8/2026, 10:15:11 AM

We could hire Giltner in an hour.

Not saying Giltner is the direction we want to go, but it has at least done hope that he’s a great young coach. Worst case, you go find a new coach in two years which we will be doing anyway.

Picked last in a b12 poll I saw this morning

That’s something because KU, WVU, ISU and BU will all be bad.

This seems like fearmongering

I’m not arguing that JF isn’t going to get what he wants, that he’s not the actual AD at this point. But I’d argue that we don’t know he devalues MBB like that. JF needs to take those recruits to something and he takes them to MBB games. Just show him the video of last years crowd. That’s what it looks like with an underfunded team. There is a chance of not replacing MY could be pretty dark next year if we lose key players, key assistants, funding. We are staring into the lame duck abyss. Secondly, we *should* be able to fund a competitive MBB team and still meet JFs requirements. Creating these narratives that limit our ability to meet our full potential supports a dangerous mentality. MBB isn’t nearly as expensive. Literally 1/10th of the players. Not 1/10th of the budget but you can get a lot more ROI in MBB. We can and will fund it.

I just went back and read my texts from the day Monty was hired…

…with my guy on the inside of the VT intelligencia. My first words were β€œyikes, can’t believe we hired Phillip Montgomery” His response was β€œwhit really pushed for him because of his experience.”

There was a Fuente class that had like 11 EsPN 4*s

Not sure espn even has a ranking service any longer, if that tells you anything.

I think Gruden is kinda a running joke.

People who bring him up seriously just aren’t aware of the joke. But what comments did Gruden make? I don’t pay any attention to his social media presence (Barstool?) these days. I am aware one of his collaborators is that Jake guy who is one if like 3 UVA football fans on social media.

Was Giltner the lead on this type of set/play implementation and counters?

And I’m sure you covered it at some point, but was his loss this late in the calendar going to end up being a big deal for MY?

Everyone should form their own opinion.

There was a big disconnect in how the fanbase is being prepared for this team and how the national media was seeing them. Mike Young loves this team. VT is definitely a NCAA team. Neo should be all ACC. VT has a 5% chance to win a NC. Vs VT is a bottom half ACC team. Just keep that in mind.

Like how the hell s Kyle Smith 7th?

Does anyone know who Kyle Smith is? Hint: he’s an ACC coach. His career is meh. Ron Hunter? Russell Turner? How are these guys ranked. Crazy.

I was surprised you think WBB is a NCAA team.

They lost three good players in Eck, White and Rose and replaced them with three not as good players in the portal. No size on the team. Unless Wenzel and Baker really improve, I don’t see anything more than an average team.

β€œDon’t be surprised if VT is in contention for the 6th spot,”

Means he thinks we are 8-9-10 best team in ACC. Thats not my expectations. Get one year of Neo on a reloaded roster and finish 8th in a mediocre conference isn’t great. Gotta be well inside NCAA tourney with this roster.
