While it's everyone's "right" to express their opinions, and some are right in their observations, just remember, the players and their families are reading the message boards (and always have). I have talked to former players (Hunter Cattoor for one) who said they do read them and he often times wanted to respond to the comments, but didn't. It's hard for them to see some of the piling on constantly in years past when things weren't going right- slumps, a player weakness, a missed bucket or whatever. Love how quickly some are willing to write a negative post, especially the obvious- look at our football fan base. (Btw- I love how Coach Monty has managed to keep this fb team together, he's getting the most out of the players he has- great coaching job by all to keep this group together considering what they've had to deal with)
You could say, well, it's my opinion, I'm right, they shouldn't be reading them, they shouldn't be letting it bother them, etc. But they do. I prefer not to air my criticism during the season because it does not help the situation, whatever it is. I'm not really talking about reaction to the scrimmage, but I can see it happening, especially, when we lose a couple of games. It will take time for this team to play together, to bond, and establish their identity. Let's let it play out and support the team as much as we can. I ended up re-upping my two season tickets for ACC games, and I'm 5 hours away. I hope to make three games this year.
I had the chance to chat with CMY earlier this fall while in town and I wish them the best- I trust he'll figure it out. Ace is high on this team as well, I believe they'll be a better team come January than they are right now.

It wasn't about different player rotations as we only played 9 and 2 not much. It wasn't about on ball defense or defensive movement as that was poor. So... Not sure what is was designed for.
I'm not worried that we lost...though Duquesne is bad and we should have out talented them. They played a lot of guys and have a bunch of newcomers so I'd certainly argue they played with player lineups a whole lot more. But.. it wasn't a good performance...so thank goodness it was designed for something else

You give them reps in practice when theyre tired to simulate a game, but there is no extra time spent trying to correct an issue that you have no tangible control over past a certain point

I agree it doesn’t really matter, but obviously Mike and the staff wanted to win the scrimmage…

There was a big disconnect in how the fanbase is being prepared for this team and how the national media was seeing them.
Mike Young loves this team. VT is definitely a NCAA team. Neo should be all ACC. VT has a 5% chance to win a NC.
Vs
VT is a bottom half ACC team.
Just keep that in mind.
