I remember when my dad bought knee pads to do his various projects
around the house like flooring. I joked about it then. I feel it now.

That article could not have been more misleading. One brief stop on...
Virginia LIS would have fixed the errors and omissions in the report.
Virginia Law Β§ 46.2-882.1 states "C. The operator of a vehicle shall be liable for a monetary civil penalty imposed pursuant to this section if such vehicle is found, (i) as evidenced by information obtained from a photo speed monitoring device, to be traveling at speeds of at least 10 miles per hour above the posted speed limit in the zone monitored by the photo speed monitoring device;"
Also, the literary fund contribution was repealed in favor of, "Any funds in excess of those allocated for such purposes shall be deposited in a local fund used solely for planning, design and construction, implementation, administration, and operation of initiatives, projects, or programs that improve traffic safety, speed management, bicycle and pedestrian safety, public transit, and local systemic safety initiatives otherwise eligible for funding through the Virginia Highway Safety Improvement Program established pursuant to Β§ 33.2-373."
The 10 mph bit has been in there since enactment. The literary fund was a change as of 7/1/2026. So either the news station used an older press release from VSP, or the VSP Communications officer needs to catch up on the law.

I think you've already chosen wisely. Better than 16 people WITH crabs.
And on the serious side, fans. Lots of fans.

I called my meteorologist buddy and asked him this question.
He said, βSurely you canβt be serious?β
I said, βI am serious. And donβt call me Shirley.β
We just laughed and laughed. He said to buy a weather rock and let him sleep, heβs got to get up at 4:00 am to prep for the morning show.

Brief thread hijack. We're going to HHI in September. Mostly because we...
love dodging hurricanes, I suppose. But which restaurants would she recommend, at three different price levels?

Does paying that much money make me smarter? (link)
A small group of American universities is crossing a threshold that once seemed absurd: $100,000 for a single year as an undergraduate.
At least 16 institutions are now approaching or exceeding that figure when tuition, fees, housing and other miscellaneous costs are combined, according to a recent analysis by New York Magazine. The list β corroborated by data obtained by CNBC β is dominated by elite, high-demand schools, including the University of Chicago, Georgetown University and Wesleyan University.

F1 GP at Catalunya is in the books, with a great story.
Lewis Hamilton wins for the first time in a Ferrari, beating George Russell and Lando Norris on (gasp) a good strategy call by Ferrari, and a little luck. Hamilton was on a 3 stop strategy while Mercedes were on a 2 stop, but a late virtual safety car came at just the right time to give Lewis a free final pit stop from the lead. With fresher tires, the Mercs couldnβt mount a charge against him.
As karma, luck, law of averages, or the racing gods would have it, George benefited from an electrical failure on Kimiβs car. Maybe Georgeβs run of bad luck is finally coming to a close. Bad news for Kimi, but he still leads the championship by more than a race victory.
Only 14 cars finished the race, showing that this new set of regs is proving to be a tough nut to crack. Charles Leclerc was the final retirement with a power steering issue, so that extends his DNF streak. Iβm sure he wants that streak to end.

I think I passed that truck on Thursday on my way back from Richmond.
Driver looked like Cheech, so it may have gone to Canada or something.

I'm going to re-predict from last week.
F1 changed the PU rules so my prediction of multiple overtakes at Monaco due to yo-yo racing never happened. In fact it went backwards - there were more overtakes from penalties than actual action on track.
So this week I'll predict double digit (legit) overtakes on the Catalunya track - minus corners #1 and #10. Again, thanks to yo-yo Mario Kart racing.

Ask your agent about adding glass coverage. Itβs not a big add on costβ¦
and Iβve replaced 4 or 5 windshields in the last 10 years at no charge.

I had a client friend ask me for a report I did three companies ago...
and about 15 years back. Fortunately it was still on my old laptop and retrievable. I didn't remember what it was called, or where to find it, but I did find the email I had sent back then on the old laptop.
You never know what kind of breadcrumbs you leave yourself to find.
