...had to travel. Unlike the Normandy landing where the troops just had to cross the English Channel, we had to ship man, machine and supplies thousands of miles.
We had maybe a half dozen D-Day landings in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theater, read that we had ~100 D-Day landings in the Pacific.
