Posting History (115)

The ACC is loaded with stellar QBs this year -- Miami, SMU, NC State, Cal

come to mind immediately. There are lots of other good QBs who will face off and sort themselves out during the course of what should be a fascinating year, and VT and UVa QBs are among those, I believe.

This guy is not to be trusted. He refers to UVa/NCSU in Brazil, and to Zion

Wilson of UVa as one of the 10 best transfers -- but the game was moved to Cville weeks ago now, and Wilson was ruled ineligible weeks ago, thereafter signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Re CMY: I recently saw the replays from some VT games from last season, and

that reminded how highly I think of him as a coach and as a person and as a lover of his school. I'm not an insider, but it seems that he hasn't been handed the deepest pool of resources to work with, and he's had a bit of bad luck (including close losses last season), but I admire him and believe that he is a very worthy representative of the school.

"head coach Maurice Drayton, who is 9-26 (6-18 SoCon)"

There's cupcakes...and then there's Reece's Pieces... VMI? The Citadel? What, you're saying that FUMA's schedule was already full? Come on, man, surely we can find guaranteed wins with a bit more football twitch than those fine institutions.

I resent that! I'll be 80 in a month and my mind works perfectly, and at 67

it worked even better than perfectly. How dare you...I mean... ...What was I saying?...

The ACC's BIG problem vis-a-vis the SEC is that the ACC lacks a lead

analyst with the telegenic and personality appeal and grace of a Paul Finebaum.

Will see them in Lexington this coming Saturday vs. the Generals. I know

that they've developed faster than would have been reasonable to expect. (Both teams have second-year WRs from Douglas Freeman HS in Richmond.)

The Japanese never conquered France; the French saw the attack coming and

sent their government into exile in La Jolla, California to learn English from Beach Boy records until the Americans could gear up the war machine and drive the Japanese back across the Rhine.

Top Richmond recruits stay in-state for college

NOT. From today's Times-Dispatch: "Top 2025 prospects such as Thomas Dale DB Shamari Earls (Michigan), Matoaca DE Caleb Williams (South Carolina), Powhatan TE Matt Henderson (Penn State), Matoaca ATH Bryce Yates (Pitt), Trinity Episcopal DB Terrance "Deuce" Edwards (Michigan State), Huguenot DL Samuel Cohen (Liberty) and Dinwiddie QB/RB Harry Dalton (USC) are off on their college journeys." "Class of 2026,,,1. Darius Gray...School: St. Christopher'... Position: Offensive line...Richmond's first five-star recruit since Hopewell's TreVeyon Henderson, now a New England Patriot, in the class of 2021...on July 13 released a top five list of Ohio State, LSU, South Carolina, Clemson and Tennessee,,,2. Andre Clarke Jr...School: Hermitage...Position: Cornerback...No. 4 recruit in the state in his class, Clarke (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) is a four-star prospect committed to Michigan...3. Davion Brown...School: Trinity Episcopal...Position: Wide receiver...a four-star recruit who committed to Penn State on May 12, has been a first-team All-Metro pick each of his three high school seasons. At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds and with 4.3 speed..." Well, Liberty did get one. Whoopee.

Oh, I was thinking of basketball's Ryan Odom. The last UVa baseball coach

was an A+...home run. That's 3; 4 if Tony Bennett is allowed into the conversation.

Join the Fluid Revolution. We'll know who the team is when five guys step

onto the floor for the tipoff of the opening game. At least I hope we will and I hope they do. Then till, it's Katy bar the door; it's every man for himself; and devil take the hindmost.

The (new) Red Badge of Portal Courage...or is it Portal Shame? UVa has had

a recent portal commit, guard Duke Miles, decommit. I don't think he ever set foot in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Of course, last year FSU's Jalen Warley committed to UVa out of the portal, showed up, then, after Tony Bennett resigned. decommitted, before stepping on the court... ...before stepping on the court? Hysier Miller? The "analytics" folks on coaching staffs? With all the churn with portal comings-and-goings, skill with a supercomputer might not be enough; quantum computing might be needed before a school puts five players on the court for the tip-off of the season's first game.

Hey, Cab, good to hear from you...but you left so much unsaid. Are you

playing in the Member/Guest Tournament at the Club in March? How is the Bent Bermuda making it through the winter? I understand that Martha Grace has been assisting at Ms. Boatwright's Cotillion -- is she still lined up for going through the pre-Holly Ball scene next year? My squash elbow has been improving. Little Mac says he'll be able to beat me by the time he returns from semester abroad and begins his internship at the Embarcadero Center. I promise I'll get that little sum I lost to you on the VPI/UVa game last fall, just as soon as the sale of my Nvidia stock clears. I've sent Charlottesville some glad tidings of NIL to ensure that the Hoos come out on top next fall. Best, Armistead
