I’ll say it now. FSU is going to be a handful. They are playing with
fervor and confidence.

Our game against the Noles this weekend is far from a sure thing. Gonna have to show up ready for a battle.

those two were worn out over the last 6+ minutes.

Three straight possessions he doesn't even pass and makes an awkward out of control drive with a nowhere close circus shot.

They’ve improved so much and look much more organized instead of just bunch of super tall athletes trying to pressure you and dunk over you. They look skilled and organized
And OF COURSE we’d play them late in the year instead of earlier when they were trying to figure things out. They’re one of the hottest teams in the league

Hamilton went to a few sweet16s an elite 8. His best team may have been the Covid year. Loucks is a good coach but pump the brakes on him better than Hamilton.
It would be like saying Jai Lucas is a better coach than Larranaga. Lucas was a great hire and doing a great job but let’s give them time to see what Lucas and Loucks can do long term.
Hamilton and Larranaga maybe hung around too long but they were very good basketball coaches

Hamilton barely coached in game in huddles (his assistants did). He was a good defensive coach and great recruiter
He’s already improved this Noles team vs last year’s

I haven’t seen us play a full 40 once this year, most games we either sleepwalk through the first 5 minutes or the last 5.

the biggest recruiting disadvantage, the toughest schedule, the worst luck, blah blah blah. New year, same old tired excuses.
The real truth is that VT has actually tried to be a real basketball program exactly once in the last 40 years, and that is when they hired Buzz Williams. Every move before and since then has been just more of the small-town, aw-shucks-just-happy-to-be-here thinking that has artificially constrained this athletic dept for decades. Fortunately, the larger university was able to get past that a long time ago.

The losses to Stanford and SMU will most likely keep us out of the tournament. Our inability to execute play the constant issues with First half production a big issue. We had a week to prepare do NCSU and the first half was a disaster. That is not because of injuries

want to play at that point
I’m a little frustrated at this team’s lack of urgency. They play hard enough to not get blown out but they appear disinterested for stretches like they cannot lock in for a full game
