I think the days of "we can't do that" or "we underestimated the market"..

....are over. A new day with White and company. ** Edited by GoldCoast at 6/25/2026, 11:40:13 AM

It’s based on Nov/dec results as someone said above.

For better or worse. The pity party for VT seems a couple decades late as it’s our own fault we didn’t get in during those last three MY 19 win teams. Vt had plenty of chances to play their way into the field but they lost, almost every game of substance.

New day, new leadership incoming. Small town mindset of β€œwe can’t do…

…that” or β€œit’s crazy out there, how can we compete?” should hopefully die. At least we should see action where BOV and AD (in whatever final form) tries.

They lost all their games that mattered down the stretch and had opps to…

…win them all. At the end day they were another 19 win MY team that couldn’t finish games in conference play when it mattered.

Looking at that list, looks like most of the power teams will be in...

..trouble. A Lot of incomplete rosters regardless of conference. At min, ACC has two title contenders in LU and Duke with three teams that could go deep in March with UM, UNC, and UVA. Thanks for sharing. ** Edited by GoldCoast at 5/7/2026, 4:37:37 PM

People complained in the past that we don't have guys that can create..

..their own shot. Got two now, possibly a third if Elohim plays to his potential. Pleasantly surprised with what MY has put together. Certainly no NCAA lock, but should have a chance to be competitive. If we can somehow find some decent defensive minded big under a rock, it could be interesting. ** Edited by GoldCoast at 5/7/2026, 8:39:19 AM

Fair enough. I dream we somehow get to see it, top 4/5 conference..

...$$$ to find out what MY could do (good or bad). Hopefully I would be absurdly wrong.

Again, he hasn't won at that level since his 2nd year. He has had talent..

..,despite the budget issues, especially when the league was down during those two back to back NIT teams and we finished sub .500 in conference. And this last team, if he is great, goes dancing, but we didn't. I don't think he can manage a high-end rosters or operate well in this environment. ** Edited by GoldCoast at 4/25/2026, 1:49:36 PM

Based on what? He hasn’t got it done for the last four years.

Only justification for him being this great coach is steeped in β€œVT can’t be that good at basketball” excuses. Great first two, back half of his third year, but he really dropped the ball with how we fell apart those next two NIT teams, and this year he couldn’t get his team to finish games once it hit Jan and conference play ramped up. He couldn’t beat anyone with a pulse. ** Edited by GoldCoast at 4/25/2026, 10:40:36 AM

Who runs our MBB NIL? It is pathetic if the statements on here are..

..accurate (that we are at the bottom). Not sure how that is not cause for a change, especially after the AD got top 20 operating money.

We have more money than Ruts, it is not close this coming year. Hope...

..all this cash is being used wisely in football. Assuming that is where it is all going.
