Last year’s roster construction was really questionable after we spent big on Pasha than also added Avdalas. We didn’t have a solid rotation and were far too dependent on guys playing high level college ball for the first time along with satisfying promises to Neo. This year we brought in 5 guys with high major experience, all of whom either started (Heide, Elohim, Curry) or played rotational minutes. Then you have Copeland who is here to do one thing, come off screens and shoot. We’ve got less height but a lot more athleticism across the board and now have two excellent defensive PGs. Roles and lineups will be very well defined, the guys we brought in know what we want them to do and aren’t auditioning for the NBA

Gotta hope that they can’t stay top 75. Much of our non conference is unknown at this time. Drew Auburn, SC, and Vanderbilt so far in the SEC challenge so I expect us to get a decent team possibly Missouri or Mississippi St in the challenge this year- AT HOME. Heard we might play in the Charleston Shriners Classic again? Season will come down to not dropping more than 2 that we should win. Snagging a signature home win- probably 2 needed. We are going to play millions of quad 2 games, and not that many q1 games. Virginia twice, Lville, Miami, florida st, and maybe 2 non conference opponents will be our only q1 opponents. 3-3 will be needed there.

Do you not consider them quad 1? I'm really banking on Avdalas choking when he steps back on our court, so I can gloat over my UNC alumni relatives.

I don’t see UNC being a top 25 team honestly. Most metrics would agree with me aswell.

They still probably won’t be that high. I’m not familiar with their schedule so it does depend when the matchup is.

These players are either making a huge upgrade to the ACC or they are developmental players looking to take a big personal step up. I think this team could end up anywhere from 6-12 to 11-7 in conference play.

That is always a key factor in how many teams a conference will get in because it gets set in stone by late December and after that the conference teams just take turns beating each other and the overall conference strength rating can't change much. Now if you are saying that the ACC is guaranteed now to forever be behind those two conferences given the current strength of programs, ability to spend, etc -- well, that may be true. But if you are claiming that there will be an implicit selection bias for those two conferences even if the on-court results don't show them to be the best -- I honestly don't think that's the case. Every year you can look at the various metrics as a result of non-conference play and come pretty close to guessing how many teams each conference will wind up getting.

Depending on what P2 chair is running the selection committee, their conference will definitely get their "underserving" teams into the NCAAT. We've seen it before when a B1X chair was running it, and I'm sure that won't be the last time they do it.

For better or worse. The pity party for VT seems a couple decades late as it’s our own fault we didn’t get in during those last three MY 19 win teams. Vt had plenty of chances to play their way into the field but they lost, almost every game of substance.
