Which is what I expected. Having a big man who can pass and shoot adds a dynamic to the offense that hasn't been here since Aluma/Mutts/Basile.
He also brings a level of toughness that we've lacked. Really good player, good fit for what we do. Everybody wants to talk Neo, but Hansberry brings many qualities that we've lacking the last few years.

But I love his game. So intelligent, terrific passer, really knows how to play. Low mistake guy, perfect conduit for this offense. Just isn’t going to make many thinking mistakes. There is a serenity and calmness to his game. He is going to be the glue on this team. Really can’t ask for a more ideal fulcrum in this offense that Coach runs than Hansberry. My favorite new player. Maybe my favorite player, period.

But a little more versatile in that he can play the majority of his minutes if needed at the 5, and that's where he'll start for the Hokies this year. May not be quite the scorer as Mutts, but I also think he'll be afforded more scoring opportunities in Tech's offense. Overall he's a really good player, with some old-school toughness. Neo is our most talented player. I could argue that Hansberry is our most important.

…complementary pieces they are. That was my complaint last year, it was a team of complementary players with no one to complement. Now with Neo and Hansbury and maybe even Pasha, the parts fit together.

I've heard Hammond has taken a big step forward, too. I would not completely rule out him starting.

It's very common for coaches to shorten their rotation when conference play begins.
The players seem confident, though. Hansberry told me this was a better and more versatile roster than his WVU team that nearly made the NCAA Tournament last season. And Mike Young said he was going to make his assistant coach hire based on what's best for this "TEAM". Not program. So he thinks he's got a winner and wants to put it in the best position possible.

Hansberry's game sounds like the opposite of Lawal. Lawal has a lot of flash, but he's still learning some fundamentals. Seems like they could be a great tandem, with complementary skills.

Dorn has been better than expected - description was that he is a 'grown man and it shows'. Not going to score a ton but can defend the 5 and rebound. I saw Ace Custis at the Vanderbilt game and wanted to get his thoughts on Dorn but never got an opportunity to ask.
Dorn being serviceable would be big (pun intended).
