How could one argue that Michigan greatest program over the years?
This year's championship, of course. But then you have a split championship in 98, and before then nothing since the late 40s?

B1G offers FSU, Miami, Clemson and UNC.
Once FSU wins the lawsuit (in some form). Then, an immediate bidding war takes place between the SEC and B1G. Where it goes from there, who the hell knows??!

Their nil deals alone should give them the opportunity
To close any "competitiveness" deficit pretty quickly. If they were a stock, I'd be buying.

East coast teams already travel 3-4 hours for games - if not more.
Just means now they fly to get to where they need to go; Instead of traveling by bus and/or (bus + plane).

Clemson destroyed them in the ACC champ game just 2 seasons ago. So what
You say, while technically accurate (if you're only counting reg season games), does leave out that key detail.

What exactly does the 2026 ESPN look-in entail?
What happens if 9 or 10 of the 15 conference members are really really unhappy w the financials of the ESPN contract and views are expressed during the 2026 lookin? Could that act as a trigger for contractual loopholes ? I don't know, just asking

Heck I have no idea, just spitballingbut a couple things:
1. Schools currently play unbalanced home/away schedules so not sure how the 50% rule applies there since it already happens.
2. Is the 50% rule an ACC rule? If so, it would become null and void the day they leave the conference, right?

What could they sue for? Scheduling neutral site games?
Also, ACC games wouldn't exist once they leave the league. So if I'm FSU, here's what I'd think about:
1. Cupcakes which will not get good ratings are home games.
2. All competive made-for-tv games become neutral site games played down in Tampa. FSU could even schedule neutral-and-neutral games w UCF and USF and play them there in Tampa and/or Orlando.
3. The rest are away games which the ACC won't own GOR over anyways. I think.

In theory, they could play neutral site games down in Tampa.
I wonder if that approach offers a way to circumvent the gor clause?

According to this report, PAC blew their chance to sign deal w ESPN in Fall
Of 2022. Talk about misjudging your own value, sheesh...

According to John Canzano, who covers the PAC as an
Independent, the PAC4 are seeking to rebuild the conference through additions, not mergers.

True, but ACC aggregate $$ still much more than paying FSU + Clemson SEC
$$$. If ESPN is silently hoping the ACC falls apart so they can cherry pick wouldn't surprise me. It's what the B1G just accomplished with regards to the PACxx

ND has remained oddly quiet.
Which is fine I guess, but if they wanted to make an enduring statement, cancel their series w USC and replace it w Stanford and UC Berkeley. Maybe the same w Michigan and OSU. Just say'in.

2 divisions: East and west. Aside from made-for-tv cross-division games
East and west meet in playoffs and tourneys. I have no idea if it would work but honestly, I would hope that it's been at least explored by the folks running numbers.

W/o knowing any details whatsoever, I'm surprised they both aren't part of
The B12 as well. I mean, there's a difference between having a toehold in FL, vs. making a statement in FL.

Contraction followed by .expansion (merger of a better aligned ACC).
Break GoR by breaking away (8-10 teams) Then merge w PAC.

Both conferences are bringing resources to the table; conference schools +
Networks are at the top of the list for sure. The ACC network is built, has a national partner in ESPN, and can be automatically leveraged if both conferences were A) disbanded, thus nullifying the ACCs GOR, and then rebuilt based on maximum tv revenue per school, then B) combined as one legal entity, which allows each entity to operate on a regional basis (ACC focuses on east coast, PAC focuses on west), and only sees each other for tv made matchups and for conference tourneys/championship games.
The ACC has to recognize that as things stand now, we have no play which changes this conferences future competitiveness. Otherwise, we get eaten by the B1G/SEC. There is no other play.
However you slice this, aside from getting ripped apart by the B1G and SEC, the ACC should probably cull out the weakest of the schools, merge w the PAC, and run things as a 2 coast conference.

If you go that route, the new PACC is the trigger for legally disbanding
The current makeup of the conference. Then, both old conferences are free to design their part of the future PACC, balancing both needs of a conference that can survive longer term; max (and competitive) payout per school, and need for regionality of schools so that proper rivalries can be developed and/or maintained longer term.

I don't know. Looks like a pretty formidable lineup.
Virginias run a few years back was much weaker than this one. And as for blue bloods, UConn has won more nattys (4), than anybody, since their first in 1999. What's more impressive is they did so w 4 different teams. If they make it 5 tomorrow, then they have earned the title of the bluest of the blue bloods.

Bezos would work in spades. Musk would tweet the ACC into oblivion. And
Then tweet some more.

The ACC needs to get smaller. Other than ND full membership, only option
Which increases payouts. And I don't see that happening until/unless the ACC is forced to (or fail to exist)
