Do Cal, Stanford and SMU have existing network studios for the ACCN?
I assume that Cal and Stanford already have network studios on campus unless the Pac-12 Network didn't require them for every member school like the ACC and SEC does. Being in the American Athletic Conference, I'm guessing SMU will have to build one. There might be a temporary studio available in Dallas????

They didn't require on campus Control Rooms and Studios. They roll the trucks and have multiple studios in their San Francisco Control Center. I was reading somewhere where they may have moved the San Francisco studios out of San Francisco, but I haven't seen anything suggesting that they have required the schools to build their own that cuts down on use of the trucks.
I would doubt that SMU has any of this.

They are bulwarks of the Hollywood entertainment industry along with the likes of UCLA, USC, et al. I don't think we have any worries about the Cal schools and television.

But why haven’t they been good in the American? I realize more $ will be spent once in ACC. Just curious. I don’t think they will do much as long as FSU, Clemson and Miami are around.

They are paying all of their football and basketball players at least $36K per year. I assume that is higher than most schools.
Now that they are in even footing with the B12, I'd expect them to do at least as well as them in recruiting and the portal. Hopefully they will overperform as a member of the ACC, that is be in the top half of the conference in football.

That just does not exist at the G5 level. Even with the expanded playoff, the G5 teams will need to have near perfect seasons to maybe make it. Much easier access in the ACC. Which means they are now going to have no barriers and can sell the vision of playoff level football.

They don't appear to have a AAC team, maybe club only? Seems odd for a warm weather school in a state with a history of very good baseball schools.
SMU won the following AAC championships the past two years: Men's Swimming, Men's Tennis, Women's Golf, Women's Rowing. They have a lot of work to do in basketball on both sides, and softball.

would have too make that commitment to women's sports as well. Given how much media money they will be receiving, it's my guess they will focus on their football and basketball teams. They have a ways to go to be ACC competitive, but as we are seeing with Colorado, it just takes the planets lining up.

That is a facility owned by the City of Dallas, and it is still there. I think to add baseball they would also need to add Softball. If they wanted to build stadiums for those, they'd need to use some of the green space on the east side of the campus. They discontinued baseball in 1980. College baseball and softball are bigger deals today than in the 1970s. So they might be interested. To add lacrosse, they wouldn't need facilities. Use the soccer fields. They are now joining a league in the ACC that competes very well in all four of the spring sports. And ESPN and the ACC network love showing all four.
The easiest adds would be lacrosse because they don't need stadiums, just locker rooms. But Texas as a state is probably bigger on baseball/softball. Texas-Austin, Dallas Baptist, TCU, and Rice all have good baseball. So baseball is all around SMU.
