Something tells me UVA is not interested in the SEC at all.
If not B1G, they appear content staying in the ACC with Stanford. Duke, etc

So why do the SEC and B1G want to require 5 years of independence
for a P4 school to move unless they dont really want to expand ? They also want to cap conferences at 19 per Ross Dellanger. Sounds to me like only Notre Dame (or UConn) would be on the table for the B1G based on that criteria. The ACC could decide to offer its last slot to the highest G5 bidder SMU style to not be permanently left out of the P4 forever. This could get interesting.

No one in the ACC is paying over $100m in exit fees to join the Big 12
Not to mention forfeiting hundreds of millions in exit fees from departing members. Why this even ever comes up makes no sense.

Makes sense. 4 Pro Ratas and Miami and UVA fit in the B1G culture more
Each conference at 20 and set for the immediate and long term future. At that point ACC adds UConn, Tulane, and USF im guessing.

So a Scheduling Agreement with Clemson followed with a Scheduling Agreement
with Stanford. But we hate the ACC heavy schedule.

The ACC people care because it would save the conference if ND joined
The ACC would not be a dead man walking and rhe entire P2 landscape would be changed. At this point i would prefer a Mag 7 breakoff anyway with no association with ND.

Swarbrick confirmed the Big East was never a true option
The quote was along the lines of "It would have been great for Catholicism". I also dont buy ND being able to schedule 12 quality games every year especially after September without the ACC.

When this relationship finally ends, what's next ?
I dont see the Big East or Big 12 as viable options for many reasons. 9 game league schedules are going to be difficult to schedule around going forward.

The Novelty of playing ND has worn thin
I went to South Bend when VT played there and the atmosphere was very mehhhh. I was truly wondering what all the hype was about. Once was enough. I definitely won't be going back. I would much rather VT play a SEC team than ND if we need ratings or a good atmosphere. The AD complaining just drove this further. Not worth the squeeze anymore. Don't go away mad, just go away.

Im still not clear on why ND pushed hard to get Stanford and Cal in ?
When they dont want to join in full.

VT podcast with big booster said UNC already has setaside funds for B1G
I was a little surprised as all other traffic favored the SEC.

Here is a link but I believe the B1G specific comments were on some talking head show after the AD tantrum happened and the MOU was fully understood.

I originally thought 24 was too much until
I realized they would get rid of the championship games. Then it is just really an extension of the regular season with wild card like playoffs. Put in that context it makes sense to me and eliminates teams that shouldn't be in.

G6 playoff needs to replace all bowl games with games at bowls
Bowl game attendence is horrific and most all P4 players opt out. Other P4 are declining. This would help both the bowls and G6 teams.

And why they chose sending all of their teams 3000 miles away and take
Highly reduced distributions. Even associating with BYU which is an excellent school was always a non starter with Stanford. If that doesn't tell you how they view most of the Big 12 teams I dont know what would.

Why would any Mag7 split money 35 ways when you could split the pie 12 ways
And likely get more playoff money. I also see no world where Stanford associates with West Virginia. If you thought the ACC was academically elitist. If there is any merger I think the academic schools form an Ivy league at the D1 level. Stanford, Duke, Cal, Wake, BC, Tulane, Rice, Georgetown, Villanova etc

So ND would have taken Miami's place even though Miami beat them
Because the are the 12th best team? Thats some BS. No matter what happens on the field we are the 12th ranked team so we deserve to be in.

The top 12 automatic is a joke
Can you imagine in any other NCAA sport where you are automatically in the tournament based on your ranking while every other team is not? Let's say UConn basketball is the 64th ranked team in basketball and they are guaranteed a March Madness bid? More entitlement for the Domers. Im so sick of it. The Commitee was transparent when they said as they get closer head to head would matter the whole time.

Starting next year the ACC champion is guaranteed a playoff spot
Strength of Schedule won't matter at all. Unless.....you dont want to play in it. You can't have it both ways. ND would likely win the ACC most years. Its hilarious that ND has made everyone kiss the ring for decades and the first time they are not the chosen ones they want to go scorched earth. Either join a conference or deal with the fallout of that choice.

Merging with the Big East would essentially lock out Notre Dame in the East
If they dont join. Their strength of schedule would be even worse in Big 12 relationship. Also where would their Soccer, Lacrosse, Women's sports non revenues play? This would be the ultimate join us ultimatum. If they dont want to join they risk scheduling any ACC Big East teams in the future. That would be a hard pill to swallow.

ACC should merge with the Big East and refuse to schedule ND in any sport
Unless they join. Have fun being independent after that.

Note this would be after the Fox contract would end.
They are currently only contacted through 2030 i believe.

I'm thinking Aaron Judge like VT fans dressing up as Benjamin Franklins
at the home games. Complete with bald caps and old school specs. Would love to see that.

Wow , Michigan doubles down on leaving the Big 10
"Michigan has a lot of options," Acker said. "The possibility of independence for football is certainly something that has to be considered. Not today, but at the end of the Grant of Rights [in 2036].
"I think it's something you have to think about," Acker continued. "Not because we want to leave the Big Ten Conference [but] because the commissioner's office has made it enormously clear that they're going [proceed] without us. That would be the end of Michigan, as far as I can see, in the Big Ten Conference."

USC only wants the Irish if they play at the beginning of the year
Plus more B1G investment news. I think the series is in jeopardy.

I think Franklin would not do well at Arkansas but its his decision at the end of the day. It just "feels" like an announcement is going to be made tomorrow morning breaking during College Gameday.

Fools Gold Franklin
I would rather have Jimbo if it is based on recruiting. He recruited the current Top 5 A&M team plus Haines King from Georgia Tech.

The truth is starting to come out. Wish we knew this prior to Pry. See link from insider.

Franklin didnt build Penn State up or make a national championship
He will never have a statue built of him. Recruits are bailing, he has lost the locker room, and the fanbase is willing to pay him $50 million to see him leave. His coaching tree set us back another 6 years. No thank you.
