But for now, the 19 team limit is just a negotiation point. Personally I find that number very odd (pun intended) and overly restrictive on the conferences. I’m fine if they want to prevent the destruction of other conferences as a response to what happened with the PAC. But to limit growth of existing conferences seems to be a step too far.

The text of this law at the time it is enacted means NOTHING!!!! It establishes a federal College Sports Commission. The responsibilties of that commission include the preservation of conferences. That is in no way specific. If this bill heads for vote I expect the P2 to unleash immediate expansion on a scale unknown ro mankind.

I ask because I am not sure how concern the P2s truly are about that provision of the bill since they seem to be more interested in moving the goal post than working with Congress. At least the various articles I have read suggest the P2s are coming up with different objections at different times to justify why they can't meet whatever deadline Congress established for them. Heck Congress gave the P2s a deadline of this morning to provide their feedback, but yet the P2s "decided" to wait until this afternoon to meet.

If it does pass, then I am expecting whatever bill signed by the President or implemented into law after sitting on his desk for 10 days to have various amendments added to it.
