Volleyball, lacrosse, Soccer,... has to also give up a home game to satisfy Cal or Stanford. Dallas isn't that close to Blacksburg as many "experts" say it is. Fly from Roanoke or worst, travel to Charlotte to get a flight to Dallas? Cal and Stanford knew what they got themselves into when they wanted to join a conference on the opposite coast. This Dallas site idea takes home games away from Tech (or any other ACC fans) that 90% of the fan base can't afford (money or time-wise). I suggest Cal and Stanford just make all those trips east and all the ACC schools make the trip west. The ACC can subsidize the extra cost it requires to make those longer journeys. Olympic sports games involving Cal/Stanford will just take place on Friday-Sunday time period. No Monday-Thursday games. How does Hawaii do it? ACC eastern teams will only have to travel to the San Francisco Bay area once per season (maybe every 2 seasons depending on schedules). Swimming, golf and tennis make to most sense for Dallas. Please don't take away soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, softball and baseball games from the fans. Going to Cal or Stanford seems like a "perk" for Olympic sport athletes, an educatonal expereince. It's just once a year if you alternate Cal and Stanford. Pac-12 schools have played at Tech in sports like lacrosse during the regular season and vice versa.

not for neutral site games in season. If multiple sports can do this concurrently in a place like Frisco with venues, restaurants and hotels close together, then one trip can provide an opportunity to cheer on multiple VT teams in an Olympics type of environment.

Sun Devils would play Thursday & Sat at Oregon and OSU for example. I expect ACC will do something similar for Cal/Stanford and likewise when they travel East

and soccer, wrestling, and sometimes in basketball.

Just let the California schools schedule more out of conference games with local teams if they want to do that.

It’s indoor and a really great area. Of course Toyota Stadium (where FC Dallas plays) is nearby too, and Dr. Pepper Stadium for baseball.

Let's think about this... For current ACC teams, traveling once to San Francisco isn't a big deal and is likely a perk. Thus, it would only help California and Stanford in their "away games". But, that means teams on the east coast would now need to travel 3 to 4 hours to get to Dallas... just to save California 2 to 3 hours of extra flight time. The cumulative travel time for everyone involved, plus expenses and burden, is far greater and costlier. The solution is add a few more schools out west so teams can have more local rivals. Unfortunately, during all this conference shuffling the ACC was either A) asleep at the wheel, or B) didn't want to expand without major concessions . Probably a combination of both.

I've read the SMU swimming and diving facility is the best in the country. What else would they use? SMU doesn't sponsor many of the ACC sports.
