Gambling sites should not take any money on TT games. They could leave
themselves vulnerable to law suits both civil and criminal (RICO) for allowing a known gambler in a quarterback position that controls the outcome of a game and could also be a ripe target for the Mob.

True, but you have to put in the effort to secure independent funding or
you fall further and further behind. ESPN is not going to help the ACC.

IMO, depending on ACC media money to fund your athletic department is a
losing strategy. Schools need to put effort and money into fund raising. Some schools may find it harder than others to raise this amount of money, but they need to try to find niche donors and corporations for the non-revenue sports and use the SMU model (rich donors) or the Clemson model (numerous small donors), or a combination of both for football and basketball. These sources of funding will be constant and steady regardless of a school's media profile.

Mississippi did this to compete with Texas and Florida which have no income
tax. If I'm not mistaken the BIG12 and ACC schools have the same disadvantage with teams in both of these states. Looks like the SEC is right, "It just means more".

Better deal than what ND proposed, which was the winner of the ND
versus Navy game (ND's only rival) would get an automatic bid to the college playoffs. It took a lot of courage by the SEC and BIG to reject this and settle on a fair and just outcome for Notre Dame.

Has the ND AD apologized to the ACC or does he continue to damage the
relationship and make ND a laughing stock.

Go to the Big East and the ACC would get an additional conference
basketball game (maybe 2) and an additional baseball series which would be great.

His replacement is in line for the highest contract in football history.
Either by Notre Dame or by a school with mega boosters.

Olympic medalists and potential medalists also get a lot of NIL money
from Olympic sponsors which helps attract top talent.

Big money donors are endowing the non-revenue sports. Endowment includes
the cost of scholarships, coaches salaries, and operating expenses. This will insure the non-revenues will survive in the future. By doing this, the VAF will have more money to spend on football and basketball. You are correct, that most of these donors are Darden MBA's that have become investment bankers on Wall Street.

Question: After watching Colorado - Houston, does the BIG12 have a minimum
age of 65 for their referees.

UVA and UNC will be contested by both the SEC and the BIG.
The BIG to expand South and the SEC to open new states and keep the BIG out of their footprint. Short term per school payouts may drop, but long term they will most likely increase. I don't think football brand will have much impact on future expansion, as Notre Dame is the only football brand that would move the needle on increased payouts.

Most recent upgrade to Scott is bringing in Chick Fil A so fans
don't have to eat Aramark food. Seriously, I don't know of any plans for Scott, but by putting permanent seats on the Hill could add 5k to 7k to capacity with minimal cost. Basketball, baseball, softball, and all other revenue sport facilities are P2 level. UNC and UVA have a long tradition, but I don't see any package deal. I do know that when Maryland bolted the ACC, the BIG wanted UNC and UVA to join them. But the criteria for expansion has changed and until the new criteria is public knowledge, nobody really knows what the P2 are looking for in expansion candidates and that knowledge won't be known until after the fact.

I'm only guessing, but UVA has spent hundreds of million dollars in
facility upgrades in the past years and fortunately have donors with deep pockets. So I'm thinking we will wait it out to see what happens to the ACC and make that decision then. I was talking mostly of P5 schools and P4 schools with little money or support. They will have to make that decision sooner rather than later.

I think a lot of schools will have to make this choice in the near future.
I see more Big East style leagues springing up as the P2 money squeezes out most of the other schools.

Seems they have a bias toward Southern schools, as only 12 of the 71
schools are located in the South.

Real reason for expansion is more TV money for the NCAA, but they cloak it
with being fair to bubble teams. Do they think the public is too dumb to see they are just moving the bubble.

The current ACC will exist as long as the P2 decides NOT to expand.
I don't see any ACC team leaving the conference without a P2 invite. The BIG 12 offers nothing for them to leave. Not knowing the criteria the SEC and BIG would use to move toward expansion, I feel they are content with the status quo. The only thing I see that would trigger expansion, is if the BIG tried to move into the states of North Carolina and Virginia which would cause the SEC to react. The BIG going into South Carolina and Florida wouldn't trigger the SEC as they now deal with completion from the ACC currently. So I think the P2 controls the fate of the current ACC and the timeline. Just my thoughts.

If you believe football value is the driving force for expansion, then
it's Notre Dame and no one else. The BIG wanted UVA and UNC to come with Maryland when they left, but the money difference wasn't there at the time and they decided to stay with the ACC. Do you see the SEC allowing the BIG to come into their regional territory (that they currently have no presence in) without a fight? Future expansion may or may not occur, but it will not be driven by football value.

With the increase in allowed scholarship, Title IX will contribute to the
biggest loss of revenue sports. Richer athletic departments may be able to pay for the additional scholarships to satisfy Title IX requirements, but most will have to eliminate men's teams to be compliant.

Men & women's soccer and LAX, and then there's squash which is endowed
and independent already. I forgot field hockey.

Lax, soccer, and wrestling would have to find a home or go independent.
All the others will have a home in the SEC. BIG is a better fit for these sports, but that is assuming a UVA invite and acceptance by either conference. Crystal ball says, ask again later.

Does this mean the SEC already has UNC in fold and doesn't want the BIG in
Virginia or is this a condition placed on the SEC by UNC? A lot of moving parts to see how all this shakes out.

There has never been competitive balance in college sports. There were
unlimited scholarships, under the table payments, million dollar facilities, no educational requirements for acceptance or eligibility, etc. Whatever the current situation becomes, competitive balance will not be part of it.

This may be the why to go for non-P2 schools to support their Olympic
sports. With football and basketball taking most of the money available, endowments may be the way to go.

Am I the only one that thinks the BIG and the SEC have had a "Yalta"
type agreement to divide the spoils? What I don't know is will the division of spoils be by territory or by individual schools.

This should stop the current model of expansion, as ND is the only school
that would bring more money to a conference. I believe any further expansion would have to also include relegation to make it financially feasible for any conference. Also, congrats on having a head coach that is humble and likable.

After watching him on the Manning broadcast, UNC will not be out coached
by anyone. He will out scheme every team they play, the only question is can his players execute the plan.

Stech: ESPN is now spinning that the SEC teams that reach the championship
game should not be penalized for losing it and should be part of the playoffs regardless of how many losses they have. It's becoming hilarious.
