Watching the Belechick disasterclass in the context of
conference realignment is pure bliss.
If you believe the talking heads, UNC is the number one target of both the B1G and SEC, save independent Notre Dame. Of course, none of this is on merit. So to see them get destroyed by small private school TCU just exposes the fraud that is conference realignment.
Also, WADR to UVa, they are viewed as the number two option, and a travel partner with UNC. Meanwhile, VT is 20-1 against them since coming to the ACC. The whole thing is a joke. *I will say this about UVa though, the aura around them re: realignment isn't nearly as annoying as it is with UNC. Finebaum already an apologist for the Tar Heels, and they aren't even in the SEC yet. Pathetic.

even wants to expand. I think it's more that the top athletic departments not included in the P2 want, or think they should be included, or at least making the same type of media revenue.
Everyone is positioning to be poached by the P2 when the next BIG contracts are negotiated, and then the SEC. Unless the networks think additional teams are worth it, and are willing to pay the money, no one is going anywhere.

That is the industry right now. Brand and TV ratings. For UNC, we knew they had the brand in basketball an olympic sports. Hiring Coach B, nailed it with national eyeballs on Chapel Hill. Also, be interesting with their new AD, whose background is professional sports and branding as no 2 for NASCAR. I submit it's not tea and crumpets anymore

so the BB move based on attention, ratings, general interest , in the short term at a minimum, was extremely wise of UNC.
translation - my first preferred candidate to replace Pry will be Taylor Swift- and I'm not coming off that until she says no.

Some of the hot takes during the game were hilarious...Colin Cowherd, "UNC has a national championship offense", I think Skip Bayless said they were a playoff team, all after that first drive. Calm down fellas

UNC was going to win the ACC and make the playoffs, Sam Howell was the 2nd coming of Jesus and was going to win the Heisman and then be the #1 pick in the draft...lol. That crap didn't make it past the first game either.
