FSU playing sympathy card
Now the former FSU QB and BOT member is bemoaning how broken college football has become. Either FSU overplayed their hand or they are playing chess while the rest of us are playing hungry hungry hippo. ** Edited by RonMexicoHokie at 8/9/2023, 4:09:42 PM

Drew should probably......
quit while he is ahead or at least get someone with a brain and emotionally neutral to review what he says or writes going forward. That was fairly pathetic even before the recent FSU BOT discussions and authorizations to purchase not one but, two jets. I am not questioning the increased efficiency of private air service but, I am questioning the optics of that purchase cast against their recent woe is us money complaints. And no Peter Collins, saying you are looking at used aircraft as opposed to new ones doesn't significantly move the optics. FSU looks worse almost every time they open their mouth and appear to be a good object lesson in the perils of selecting weak university leadership that essentially abdicated their responsibilities to overzealous boosters.

Actually, FSU is the world's worst Among Us player.

Sure it is part of the coordinated FSU campaign, but it's also mostly right
The clear fact that is finally accepted by everyone is that the BIG and SEC won. It's officially over for the old version of college football and is now the era of the P2. Sure we all know that the B12 and ACC will still have plenty of good players and coaches that can win games. But the money gap is now entrenched, which means that the P2 can more easily poach those good players and coaches. That said, Drew was trying way too hard when he wrote this diddy..."we should celebrate that collectively, universities have incubated and built what has become a multi-billion-dollar national treasure, and they owe it to themselves to commercialize the asset for the greater benefit of their stakeholders." I don't know whether to laugh or throw up when reading that puppet comment. Overall, I think FSU is trying to mass market the fear angle to the other ACC schools, their staff, and their fans in order to build up pressure to support their exit strategy. We should know by the end of this week for Cal/Stanford and by next week if there are any actual plans for the ACC breakup.

That was a lot of words used to convey
very little meaning. He even seems to contradict the little meaning that may have been there. He spends a bunch of words bemoaning how the game has changed for the worse...then proceeds to close by saying it's more exciting and enjoyable than ever.

The problem is, it's actually NOT more exciting than ever.
Consolidation yields boredom.

You're right.. but so is he. I agree with everything he says.
Of course, he and all the FSU boosters wouldn't be making any noise whatsoever if THEY had the unfair advantage. That's why there's zero chance of the SEC or B1G making any chances that would diminish their enormous leg-up on the rest of college athletics. They've won, and they're going to fight tooth and nail to hold their ground. The idea that somehow they're going to absorb schools that don't increase per-school revenue just to make things more equitable or cleaner with 2 mega conferences makes zero sense.

Right message. Wrong messenger.

Can you imagine the slurs coming from Gainesville if the Ball Coach
was still at U of F. Lots of sound bites.

FSU made a rookie mistake...I think
They came hard with all of the bluster and realized that they probably did not have a deal lined up to move the B1G or the SEC. They also probably figured out from their attorneys that the GoR was going to keep them in media rights jail for 13 more years. My guess is that they hoped to scare the ACC into making concessions for them and they probably got nothing. If you are going to talk big, you better have a place to land. Ask San Diego State what happens to schools that do not have firm plans but try to make unwarranted power moves in this environment. I guess we will find out on August 15 if FSU truly has the goods to leave the ACC.

They are on the third stage of grief.
Just think - the conference and media have to put up with 3 more from them.

FSU can rot; what a pathetic, low class tantrum they threw in public
let them write a check if they want to commit financial suicide.

I'm not feeling a lot of sympathy toward FSU.

FSU is pretty good at pounding sand. National runner up for beach v-ball
They have been the NCAA national runner up three times (2022, 2018, 2016).
