Hearing some Vibes.. Franklin to VT
VT might be announcing their new Football Coach here about Monday..shocked but happy for VT...from being fired to being hired less than a month. If this is all true, a big name off the bidding block. James Franklin...got the info earlier but waiting on posting something that might be a big rumor...Just sharing like all does on this wonderful site...

...drive up Franklin's marketability. He could be in negotiations with another school, and his agent might be saying, "See, VT wants him. Better pay up!"
I will be surprised if VT hires him, and not thrilled. I've never been a fan of his personality. I don't even really have an opinion of him as a coach...I just don't care for his persona.

UVA alum and fan here and I can't see how a Franklin hire doesn't check every single box. Maybe one shouldn't marry him, but he can be a special leader for your program and that's the consensus of just about every single expert to weigh in.

He’s a joke of college football at this point, would be one of the worst hires we could make. So he had a good stretch at PSU, great, but that doesn’t mean it will translate to VT where you won’t just be able to out-resource all but 3 schools in the league (the 3 he could never beat).
Also, maybe we could hire someone with a less shady/embarrassing past. This is a guy that literally intimidated a rape victim at Vandy with his strength coach by his side. He hid Micah Parsons doing that weird stuff in the locker room to his teammate and then railroaded the teammate to keep it quiet. It’s not hard to just be a halfway decent person, Franklin ain’t it.

From skimming this board it looks like anyone who doesn’t want Franklin is shouted down by about 10 people. So it might look like a minority don’t want him, but it’s just because the Boomers on here have nothing better to do

You mean the ones who were trying to avoid the case being thrown out when they made that statement? Talk to people in the Vandy program, you'll hear the truth.
Also, Blake Anderson got fired for this exact same situation 6-months ago. Pat Fitzgerald got fired for the weird locker room stuff last year. PSU, obviously a great arbiter of morals that we should trust did proper vetting on all situations.

Just because they’re your coach, you should support consistently bad people? Nah man, this guy has an embarrassing history. There are good coaches who don’t have questionable histories. This isn’t hard.

We're operating in a world where we assume nobody else ups their investments though. In the short-term we're towards the top, but how quickly will others catch up? I read about how we catch up in the short-term in the plans, I didn't see much about how we plan to stay at the top though.
