This is a splash hire. Not my first choice but I’m all in.

I have kept the checkbook closed the last couple years, but I believe it’s time to reopen it. I think 17 PSU players in the portal. Wonder how many follow? Can we keep talent in VA again. Should be good on both. Ticket prices should be interesting next year.

Not that there was any doubt, but I can start

Having ran companies, I agree completely with your assessment. Some

hires, especially hiring CFO’s or EVP’s, you just cannot have leaks in the hiring process. I was fortunate to be able to keep hiring decisions to the very few involved absolutely quiet. Now, that does not guarantee you hire the right person for the job. No matter how careful and in-depth you are, there are instances it still does not work out.

I want Mullen. I want someone as tough as

Jerry Claiborne was. He was no nonsense, work your ass off kind of a coach. I believe Mullen is just like that. Anyone else is failure in my book as a pick.

I see BYE opened up + 3 over us this weekend. Sad

state of affairs at Merriman. We need a total house cleaning. And I mean everyone. This turd has got to be flushed.

I want Jon Gruden. He is a hard nosed a$$ kicker. We basically have

2026, 2027, 2028, 2029 to get ready for what college football may look like come 2030. Jon has NFL head whistle experience and basically has said 'call me.' We need a hard a$$ proven asset that's young enough to be around awhile. Someone that can tell recruits 'I can get you to the next level.' Yea, it will cost. Either go big or be welcomed into the Sun Belt or worse. We don't have time to screw around.

Merryman needs an enema starting with Babcock. Whole thing needs to be

burned to the ground. And if Sands is not all in he can pack too. Losing is not a tradition but we are doing our best to make it one in Blacksburg.

Best financial decision I made this year was not

renewing my tickets. Probably get them pretty cheap right now on seller web sites. But even that’s not worth watching this train wreck.

I am so glad I didn’t buy into the hype this year. College football kind

of snuck up on me this season. This season feels like Groundhog Day. Just stuck in purgatory.

I told my brother

5-7 this year about a month ago. I don’t think I’m wrong. Drones is not the guy. I’m sorry, but he’s not. And I am just plain tired of playing these so called big opening weekend games on national TV and just getting embarrassed every damn time. It’s just getting old. I gave up season tickets this year for numerous reasons, but mainly because of the product on the field. It’s just not worth the price to sit in west indoor seats anymore. Not even regular seats. Not for this crap. My 2 sons live in Atlanta and begged me to come to this game. I just said no, I could watch the embarrassment just as easy from Dallas. We are what we are, a lap dog for decent teams.

So far Pry has been all hat, no cattle. It's time to fish or cut bait. I

thought Pry was the correct hire. I was wrong. Pass the crow. Our AD is 0-2 on football hires. Anyone really want him around for #3? Didn't think so.

I too have been bombarded with calls, e-mails, and texts. I have also told

them I am not renewing. Life is just too short to spend the money on indoor club seats and witness the same product since basically 2014, with the exception of I think Fu's first year when we beat ND at ND. Also, living in Dallas, it's not cheap to fly home for every game, the theft of 3 day minimums at hotels, rental cars, and food. It's easily 5K per game, plus the donation for the seats, plus the cost of tickets. Could I do it cheaper? Yes. Will the product change? Probably not. I watched the Senior Bowl Saturday. 5 Hokies there. It told me we probably have the talent to win, but lack in coaching. My hopes were high with Pry, but we stay at square 1. I'll go to one game this year, but to fork out money for the long haul just not in the cards. Wasting money is just stupid.

I was pretty excited when Pry arrived. But now seeing three years under

his belt, it is becoming crystal clear he just does not have that head coach swagger. I’ve been sorely disappointed. Whit is on football coach 2. If things are not any better next year Pry needs to go, I have no faith in Whit to replace another head coach. We are just in a really bad place. I can’t envision it getting better. Not knowing the schedule next year, to me 8-4 at worst is the marker, and I just don’t see it. We have become uva-c. Sad.
