Finally was able to listen to last week's Talking with Teel

Look, I hate the 24 team playoff as much as anyone else, but I do have to push back on something that was discussed. NFL and CFB make their respective playoffs by totally different criteria. The Buffalo Bills are resting their starters in week 17 because they're 14-2 and have a 2+ game lead on the 2 seed. It doesn't matter if they lose. They're still making the playoffs as the 1 seed. College football is completely different and teams get seeded subjectively. You're not going to see teams sitting starters in rivalry week because sure, your top 10 teams will still make the CFP regardless of a rivalry week loss. But do you really want to drop a few spots in the bracket? Surely you'll still play to win so you get a higher seed so you can play a weaker team and have an easier route to the finals. I really think the sitting starters discourse is a bit overblown. I HIGHLY doubt teams will be resting starters come rivalry week.

I wouldn't overthink it

Student athletes have been balancing academics with athletics for most of their lives. Plus think of all the vast resources they have at the college level, especially at a P4 school like Virginia Tech. They have tutors, special academic advisors, and other tools at their disposal to succeed in the classroom while participating in athletics. Also the professors understand the situtation they're in. They can offer extensions or other opportunities to balance the rigorous schedule these student athletes have. I guarantee you exams are not playing a distraction factor at all for the team in the ACC tournament, especially the more seasonsed starters.

Yeah I watched every inning of those heartbreakers

My critique was just the semantics. Odd to say you went on a "world series run" when you didn't even make the world series. That's like saying the Ravens made a playoff run but didn't even make the playoffs to begin with. We did, however, make a world series run in 2008. Went to both of those games as well in OKC.

2022 isn't accurate

You can't say you had a "WCWS run" when you didn't even get out of supers. We also didn't win the ACC... Great year but you're inflating the end results.

It’s so frustrating.

And the announcers are oblivious. Haven’t heard them mention anything about it.

Not to mention

PSU is coached by Clarisa Crowell, VTSB great who's in the Virginia Tech Sports HOF.

Three colleges in three years

Unless you're probably going pro, this can't be good for young people and their educational development to be transferring so frequently these days. Settle down at one school, get your plays in, make your friends, get your degree. The amount of transferring these kids do these days is ridiculous.

Why is Drones so scared?

Constantly slides before the marker. It’s infuriating

Keep booing

This staff and team and administration deserves all the boos and then some. This is beyond embarrassing

I’ve never been more apathetic about this program than I am right now

I’m 33 years old. My parents took me to my first game when I was just a few month old baby. I’ve been to 100+ home games, and plenty of away games, neutral sites, and bowl games. VT football is my biggest passion in the world. Thanks to Whit, Pry, Drones, and others, never have I felt so empty about this program as a whole than I do now. And that’s so infuriating to say. I’m glad fans are booing. The administration needs to know how we feel.

What are the worst stats of the Brent Pry era?

remind me of the 1-score game record. Is it 1-14? What was that record of losing going into the 4th quarter, 1-17? I’m a masochist. Give me all of the worst stats of the Brent Pry era

5 plays in one quarter.

What the hell was the halftime speech that led to that

Don’t play scared

It’s a freaking INCH just sneak it with your bulldozer of a QB. Hate that from Pry

To offset some of the negative comments (mine included)

Defense gave up only 17 points to a Heisman favorite, future 1st round nfl draft pick. Kudos where it’s deserved

That really sucked

But let’s be honest. We could be 3-1 going into ACC play. Lot of things to clean up. But showed enough that 3-1 isn’t out of the realm of possibility

Don’t really see a difference

Between Bowen’s play calling and Montgomery play calling

Atrocious take

By not suspending him for a DWI, lying to the cops about it, plus his other two reckless driving incidents, you’re saying that this behavior is tolerated at Virginia Tech. Actions have consequences, believe it or not. Comparing this to how a business would handle a DWI with some random employee is laughable. Get your head out of the sand. We have higher standards at Virginia Tech than the SEC. I’m glad I don’t work with you

From a captain too….

Obviously no one should be getting a DWI but to do so after being named a captain shows incredible amounts of immaturity

Atrocious overturn

If the uniforms were reversed, we wouldn’t get that call

Ah that makes sense

Hard to hit 13 dingers and not run rule the opponent lol

Dang

Could definitely have had a legit shot at the Oklahoma record if we went the full 7 innings

Tinch is in a league of her own

You could double the career strikeouts Emma has and she'd still be 700+ behind Angela. She's one of only 3 players to eclipse 2,000 K's in the sport's history. As the cherry on top, she also no hit the USA Olympic team back in 2008. No chance that ever happens again.

Love seeing Lovett talk smack one play

Then the very next doesn’t have outside contain and cost us the TD πŸ₯΄

Does #8 not care about being out there?

Bench him for someone who can actually jump in the air and show a little effort
