No offense to who you have mentioned but UVa? Why mention them?
They did not win the ACC, Duke did. But yes, we can and will win the ACC. This year we have to beat Miami or Clemson. Louisville will be a favorite as well.

There is no simple answer to this question....
I'm not a private equity guru but I think the model has some holes in it. Just like at the corporate level, there must be some type of return for their involvement. Take a minor sport for example. If we are partnered with a private equity and the track team is faltering, they may say we are cutting track. This is much like if your company doesn't hit key metrics for a few quarters and the equity firm says, "we're moving to Mexico." They get the say because they have the money. It could be the answer but it could be a slippery slope.

I think Gosnell retains the starting job at TE. He's a Franklin guy.
It was a coup for us to get him. He originally committed to PSU.

Other coaches have done more in less time. Look at Cignetti at Indiana: year one CFP team, year two #1 in the nation. This with all portal players and a solid staff. If CJF is anywhere close to that I would think top 25 in the country for starters and challenge for the ACC, maybe third place. I know Clemson and Miami will be at the top but maybe we could be third. After that we need to adopt the old Dabo philosophy, "Why not Us?"

Serious question about the future of college football and lower levels -
If football continues the way it is going do HS recruits got thru the FCS to get to big time football? Does the P4 use the portal for needs and not HS recruiting?

Anything is possible but I'm not sold on UVA. However,
If they get up early (two scores) we're in trouble because of our passing game. Everything I read is comparing UVa to Miami. I just cannot believe that.
If we can control the ball with the running game and destroy the clock, we win 20 - 13.

The standout of CJF(s) introduction to me was the use of the word
Family. Whether using it towards his own family, of which you can tell he is head over heels for or using towards the culture and community of VA Tech.
You can tell he is a master motivator and could be a polished CEO. I, for one, am very intrigued at what is going to happen with our beloved institution.
I was once told by a great football coach, "if you teach faith, build the team into a family, winning football will take care of it's self. They will want to fight for each other through everything." That is what Beamer's great teams had and hopefully, what Franklin's teams are going to have.

I think that players,
coming in from JMU would have a head start but I'm not sure that, that means they are better. It depends on the IQ of the player. At this level (D1) they all have athletic ability. Some more so than others but they should all be able to play. I think our issue is do we have the thought process it takes to execute.
